Al's thread is one of the busiest of the site. Despite that, I've not delegated her her own board, as Amberlynn's thread is also one of the worst on the site.

Perpetual, paper-thin shielding. Violent, frothing-at-the-mouth rage for no particular reason. Indignant outrage at every possible attempt to contain, control, mitigate, or in any way improve the Amberlynn thread. You've driven out my Beauty Parlor mods by being awful, constantly, and none of the other staff even want to read it. Despite that, it goes on. Day after day another 10 pages of just being mad at a fat lady and predicting how bad her kid's gonna get fucked in the ass by a Tinder date. Not even questioning if it's possible, just debating how much you think Al would charge for the privilege.

So you win. I give up. This board has no rules. I'm not even going to delegate supervisors to it. I don't care what you do. I only ask that you don't organize any sort of illegal activity, and if Gracie does get fucked in the ass, don't post the pics here. Thanks.

(And to make it perfectly clear, Amberlynn users are not 'unwelcome' from the site. It's just abundantly obvious at this point that the culture around her is not going to align towards the culture of the rest of Beauty Parlor. I'm more than willing to let things sort themselves out.)

I am genuinely thinking about opening boards like this for every massive, spiraling "a-log cow" or cultcow.
You're just going to inundate the site with subforums for everything, content is going to be lost in the chaos and it's gonna push people away, yeah it might bring in more traffic but if the quality of the site declines because of it then nobody's going to care. I think this is setting up the site to peak out on individual visitors and then decline sharply but this is my two cents. There's no pretending that I know website maintenance more than you do but I do know where I want to go to make fun of autists online and what you're describing sounds like a mess.

Perhaps some kind of containment board with subsections, or perhaps lolcow-tags? I feel like opening a board for each individual cultcow is going to be simply too much, and will probably send the wrong message too.

The issue is that lolcow threads and boards are very much to taste and if a mod isn't reading the board actively it doesn't get moderated. To effectively moderate boards like the DSP, Al, Dobson threads I'd need mods that actually want to read those threads and they just don't. I've thought about promoting BP or CS because they do a good job, but when I did that with Valiant and Vitriol, they just stopped reading the Events and News + Deep Thoughts boards altogether. Only Meowthkip has basically sat down a chair in the board they were originally supervisor for and stayed there.

I've been considering a serious restructuring of the site to focus people better but I'm not even sure how I'd go about it. For one, I'd actually demote a bunch of good mods just to say "hey, this is your focus", but the issue then becomes a lot of people don't know who's staff where and will contact a single-board moderator about an issue only higher ups can deal with.
