It's sad, but like it's been said once upon a time it was actually a good place to discuss videogames. I bet the new people are either unaware of the state the board is in or they're SJW dumbasses who need somewhere to talk about the sexism in videogames.

I feel like some people stay there for another reason though. I never lurked in other somewhat big boards, stuff like the Penny Arcade forums or even the Escapist forums (/v/ and gamefags are too hostile and filled with senseless shitposting). I don't know if they're better, although I doubt they're as terrible, but NeoGAF is still much bigger. I guess some people just endure because they feel like they don't have another option if they want to discuss videogames.

They conflate acceptance/tolerance with celebration and validation.

Some redneck christian (or guess what muslim) has every right to not like you, not praise you, and talk about how he thinks your behavior is immoral and God will send you to hell. If he's not threatening your safety or property and he's not fucking with your job or rights... then he's still giving you all the acceptance and tolerance he's required to.

Just because you love eating Chipotle, not everyone else has to love it. You can still go eat Chipotle whenever you want.

I honestly cannot believe a place like NeoGAF exists and isn't a joke forum. I have done my best to stop even opening the site, but I am foiled by an uncanny desire to hate read the off topic section. The Nazi's got it all wrong. It isn't the Jews that need the oven, its the type of faggots that circle jerk each other in forums like NeoGAF and/or belong to groups like ANTIFA that are cancer.

It's hard to tell which mods are actively running the show since they hide behind their moderation bot despite the fact (a fact stated by the mods themselves) it was never intended to hide the moderator, rather make moderation "easier" to do from their mod IRC channel.
