Did Phil ever even display geniune positive sides other than repulsive narcissism in his life?

- Gave away empty game boxes thinking it's something his fans would appreciate.
- Treated his daughter-girlfriend even during her reveal vid on YouTube as if to publicly brag to his viewers: 'Look at this pussy I'm scoring, I'm so cool! *snort*' in his mind.
- Exploits issues other YouTubers face and even deaths purely for monetary gain.
- Openly berates and mocks his enablers, and he still wonders why he's so disliked.
- Was a pretentious know-it-all whiner even during his SF2 glory days.

The only instance I can truly think of was whenever John appeared (or other friends of his for that matter like with Mario and Sonic Olympics) where he kept his usual bitching to a minimum and seemed to actually have fun bullshitting alongside John. Those seem to stand out to me as the only instances where Phil seemed like a decent human being around another human.

Didn't he say he could totally do work relating to the game development process since he's apparently played so many games that he's an expert on what ideas are good? Realistically all he can do in that field is help developers make their games exceptional individual-proof.

Phil sitting in the Q&A-Section of a game developer would be hilarious. He would find "crippling game bugs" others would call bad gameplay on his side, and he doesn't know about things like artifacts, screen tearing or anti-aliasing. In fact, he barely uses terms that describe such problems and instead says "graphics look awesome". Having played so many games doesn't make him an expert in understanding games (see Dean Takahashi), especially when you consume them on such a rate. He barely compares games of the same genre to each other, and you can take little to nothing from his commentary. Actually it's kind of amusing that if you play games for a decade without doing anything else in your life you can still end up as clueless about them when you started playing games.

Remember he does not enjoy video games, he consumes them and he turned them into his source of income.

Too bad he's pigeonholed himself into having to do it
Quick followup to Destiny 2 comments, DSP is indeed sick of it & doesn't want to play it again. A portion of the stream outro for the Mario+Rabbids late night stream (the Twitch VoD is still up for now), direct quote: "Will I go back to Destiny 2 at some point next week? Maybe, uh but honestly I'd rather play other stuff at this point, I'm all Destiny 2'd out pretty much"
Figured that would embed like yesterday's Knack 2 clip about Sunshine, my bad, still learning the best ways to embed here. Also ignore the frozen image at the start, I lazily chopped this out of my recording with MP4Tools and audio is fine but doesn't display video until it hits the first keyframe.

Umm... what was that, 1 week? How long he played it I mean.

Oh good, because what the games industry is desperately lacking is more ideas guys who can't code, animate, draw, or make music. Phil has his finger on the pulse of this modern world.

I doubt he has that long before it all comes crumbling down.
That was my attempt at humor. Of course he can't keep doing this for another 10 - 20 years, let alone another 5 years.

I always found funny how Phil belived that he cloud get a job in the "Tech industry" in Washington,he moved there for that reason. Why does Phil belive he is qualified for a tech job?
No. That was just some bullshit he was spinning to get people off his back at the time. As soon as he moved to Seattle he changed his tune to "getting one of those jobs is highly competitive & you have to have a relevant degree so they'd never hire me in tech."

I think a lot of the descriptions of phil last 2 pages are spot on. However i dont think that's how he sees himself at all. I think he still sees himself as really successful and everything is the detractors fault. He even blamed his breakup on tbe sok! He thinks he smart, good looking and a savvy business man.

9 days since it came out on Wednesday September 6th, except he took the day off on Tuesday 12th to powerwash his driveway etc. & played Ultra Street Fighter 2 instead for Sunday 10th - 7 main streams. In fact he played for a little over 24 hours, or an average of just under 3.5 hours of recorded YT gameplay videos per stream.

Part 1 didn't even hit 10K views yet, part 2 is also under 5K, the vast majority (90 out of 110 parts) are under 1K views, first dips under 1K at pt17.

Bonus: A reminder that DSP doesn't make his own video thumbnails, viewers have to send them to him in bulk, he can't even just make more himself with a template & numbers. It looks like these viewer(s) supplied only 100 thumbnails for Destiny 2 & 75 for Mario+Rabbids.

come to think of it now i almost think he actually can't play sunshine for the reasons he states. it's not that he wants to double dip because he's greedy, but that he has to because he's in financial ruin. what makes him an idiot though is that he'd rather have his fans suffer than dare to lower his quality of life one ounce.

Of course he believes that has no choice, because sacrifice or creative solutions to meet an obligation or improve his income aren't part of his business model.

People talk about the SoK and copyright strikes a lot, but past-Phil seems to be the most potent troll of them all.

To me false copyright strikes aren't trolling, they're harassment and a violation of the law. Most people (rightly) believe that corporations are misusing the DMCA, so it seems pretty hypocritical when someone violates the law themselves and excuses it because it's "trolling." Just one guy's opinion.

Anyway, I agree that Phil trolls himself and all anyone really needs to do is sit, watch and be amazed.

My guess is Phil assumed you could buy Sunshine on the Switch and found out he couldn't. So now that he knows he has to do minimal work and spend a few more dollars to be able to stream this game he doesn't want to do it.

Eventually the Patrons choice playthrough will only be voting on games that come out that month, under 20 hours long, no Nintendo, no "weeb games", actually just nothing from Japan period, and Phil gets a vote that is worth more then all patron votes combined. Only $1,250 to have this power in your hands.

Question:
Does Phil even answer the questions he gets on Patreon?
I know that the creator can choose to make their replies viewable only by the Patron (or maybe only backers can ask private questions or some shit).

https://www.patreon.com/darksydephil/posts
https://www.patreon.com/darksydephil/community

But I don't see any replies by Phil and I don't see Phil liking any of these pledges or supportive comments at all. I can't find a single response or a like.

Am I wrong in thinking this? I'm not going to back the fucker just to see if this is correct, but it'd be nice to know.

Compare it with some of these Patreon pages:
https://www.patreon.com/CooptionalAnimation/community
https://www.patreon.com/Larry/community
https://www.patreon.com/jimquisition/community

Even fucking Chrischan at least replies to people on his posts (not community though):
https://www.patreon.com/Sonichu/posts

I can't think of any other Patreon pages to compare it to.

Also what the fuck is this:

DSP doesn't update his Patreon posts, answer questions, think of new perk tiers.
All he does is copy and paste stale goals which have been reused more times than his pit-stained shirts, and then expects people to hold their pledges at exactly the same level even after he pulls shit like refusing to play Super Mario Sunshine if it wins Patron's Choice.
It's abundantly evident he was never taught as a child that one stands a greater chance of earning more when effort is put into something.
