Why would anyone consult Jake about hate groups when he's unable to counteract the negative information about him and can't even get himself off blocklists? He's not exactly successful at neutralising the impact of "hate groups" on his own life.

I actually buy his asexual claim.
At least I don't think he's attracted to adults. Not necessarily saying he's a pedophile, but I wouldn't shocked if his arrested development is any indication.
His fixation on Chelsea and other ratkings seems to be purely for validation and not sexual purposes.
All just pissing in the wind really, but my two cents says he has as clear an idea of how Jake Alley's sexuality works as we do kibitzing over here. Whatever real genuine honest horny he may have going on in there -- whoever or whatever it might be directed toward -- is so deeply buried under layers of shame and self-hatred and social pressures and physical dysfunction that he may as well be ace for all practical purposes.

Which is fine. Coming up with original ideas is hard. You have to literally spend time coming up with idea after idea, then researching those ideas, then finding out that someone already thought of them, and then trying to come up with a new idea. It's a difficult, soul-crushing process...
But you can't blame your life's problems on the fact that someone else took "your" idea. Someone will think of the same idea you had at the same time. Or they might really have been inspired by your idea and gotten there faster and made it more compelling.
The best way to protect yourself from someone else, instead of you, succeeding at an idea you also had is to, you know, actually have a job and stuff while developing your ideas so you don't ruin your life financially and you can just move on to the next idea.

Absolutely. Anyone remotely successful in a "creative" field, whether it's screenwriting, games, fuckin' advertising, whatever, knows that you're only as good as your NEXT idea, and that getting attached to or fixated on an idea rather than moving rapidly on to a new one and then another even newer one is (along with work ethic) the biggest thing that separates amateurs from those who actually achieve.
The people who spend ten years working and reworking a novel based on characters they made up as a teenager are not likely to get anywhere (although who cares, maybe they'll have fun writing it). People like Jake, who do one thing and then spend ten years marinating in its failure, never had a chance.
