Les Mis movie is not terrible, but I wouldn't call it a good movie either. It had good performances from Hathaway and Jackman, but all the other things were a mess and Russel Crowe indeed sounded like fart with applied reverb. But this is what happens when you're indeed at the end of the media centipede, with a door-stopper sized book adapted to a play, adapted to a musical, adapted to a movie.

The guy who played Javert in the review was not a part of CA as far as I remember, he was just a tag-along friend with his own career. I also remember that Andrew Dobson made a comic for him. Lindy has her own thread, I believe the circumstances of her leaving were discussed there, but again, as far as I remember, she left to make her own stuff and start her own website (that promptly failed).

In speaking of which, anything about Lindy leaving or even considering to ditch channel awesome or am I behind the curve here. Or anything about the other guy in the review. I.E. the guy who, for a lake of a better term, plays Javert in the Les Misérables review.

In speaking of which Les Misérables, much like Moulin Rouge, I've only heard and know of the film via NC's review of it so do guys think it's god or not?

The movie has a great deal of flaws, especially when it comes to pacing. But it's generally well acted and has a few decent shots when the camera isn't zoomed in. The musical beats it any day but for a movie adaptation it's okay.

Didn't stop Doug harping on it like a jackass of course.

Truly! It's ear rape. The guitar is just painful to listen to. Dreadful version of a dreadful song.

What's worse is that he outright stole it from Queen/Moulin Rouge, yet he goes around with that song as if he owns it.

Lindsay actually enjoys Moulin Rouge and considers it a well-made, stylized movie, and seems to regret taking part in the review because of how negative and unlike her own opinion it was.

Also, to add insult to injury, Lindsay got none of the profits from the review (source). Meaning, she had to shill Doug's viewpoint about movies for free. That sucks.

Huh, wow. That's...Interesting, and it even makes me respect Lindsay a little more. I guess sometimes she's not a contrarian for contrarian's sake like Doug or Strider.

As for Les Mis, it was an average film. Not good, not bad...Really average. The pacing is really off, but that's probably due to adapting a huge musical based off a huge book. A lot of stuff can get lost in between. The live singing is a little off-putting, but most of the actors were well-cast (I have a soft spot for Samantha Barks). Honestly while it's kinda "eeh", I'd put it nowhere near the Mamma Mia or Phantom of the Opera movie adaptations.

That guy was BrentalFloss. He has his own channel where he adds lyrics to videogame music. It's good stuff (at least I enjoy it) - I have a few of his songs on my iPod. He rarely uploads anymore though.

So apparently Brad's making another movie this year. (Link to announcement.)

IMO it seems more promising than Jesus Bro, but that's not saying much, and only time will tell...

Eh, it sounds like the kind of movie Brad would make, he's always had a strong nostalgia for the 70s esthetic and disco music. Knowing him though, I half suspect the film will start like a knockoff of one of those "married woman have a night on the town movie" but then suddenly turn into The Last House of the Left.

Rate me late, but has ayone bring Kyle from Brows Held High yet?

This shit with Meteokur is boring. We know all that stuff already.
The problem is that he's kind of obligated (read: forced) to do it thanks to it being one of his Patreon goals. It's pretty apparent in most of his recent videos (not just the TGWTG ones) that he's about done with making videos. But that's besides the point.

If he can't deliver with episode 7, then this would have been a utterly pointless series he did. Not like it already wasn't, but it could have been at least entertaining, which it wasn't by any means of the imagination.

I'm kinda surprised we don't talk more about Kyle. Not only is he close to mostly SJW-ish ideals, he's also incredibly snobby, self-absorbed and super arrogant about his tastes. He's the type of guy who judges you hard for liking mindless (but overall inoffensive) entertainment for fun.

Honestly, it's because his content is boring.

Hey now, sometimes Kyle also likes mindless entertainment for fun... but then makes a big deal out of "I enjoy it because it's mindless!", as if people would judge him for lacking high-brow self-awareness or whatever.

One example that comes to mind being his Top Movies of the Year list for 2013 where he mentioned Pacific Rim and how much he loved it for being "a movie that's good because it knows it's stupid" (paraphrasing). Which, one, is needlessly condescending, and two, is inaccurate since the crew and cast took it seriously and considered the project a labor of love. I mean, it's a fucking Guillermo del Toro movie, he's well known for being an earnest filmmaker, learn your shit Kyle.
