So it seems like his emergency next month is roughly $3000.

Looking at this cynically, Phil's upcoming big October payday is probably just enough to cover it, and he's buttmad that despite working his ass off to panhandle online, he won't be able to take another staycation and pay his other bills as he has done in the past.

I can see this being him crying wolf again to drum up money he feels entitled to after feeling a dip in his coffers these last few weeks. I'm not going to jump to the conclusion he's in danger yet, but that's a good sign that his returns are diminishing to levels affecting the lifestyle he won't let go of.

edit: Phil is sounding a lot like peak victimization Chris.

I can't see this being the housing fee.
After all he has lived there for 3 years now, so this would be a fee he has paid several times previously. Also $3000 isn't impossible for him to come up with by selling some of his shit.
(I get he's exceptional so there is still a remote possibility)

Housing-wise the only possibility is like someone mentioned about 658 pages back, maybe the HOA have billed him a huge amount for improvements or something similar.

This has to be something that is going to cost him anywhere from 5-20,000 dollars.

Based upon everything we've seen so far, my personal strongest option so far is some sort of Pandalee scenario. It'd explain today why he was getting a bit emotional about her not being around anymore, it may be that behind the scenes he's trying to get his full-time girlfriend back.

So since drgnkiller posted this on twitter and we now know for sure other YouTubers are being audited, we can pretty much lay this to rest now, right?

Yes. Read the comments where the internet tax experts pretty much say you'd have to have spent over a million dollars over the three years to have that amount of money be in jeopardy. There is no way Phil has come close to spending a million dollars.

You mean they aren't going to audit Phil? Or that this is a non-issue for him?

And if that house has increased in value 50k (redfin is not the best judge of a home's value but its what we have), that property tax is going up. IF this is the issue that he got "notice" about, and IF he is in fact living month to month off of youtube and twitch.... his appointment on monday is possibly an appraiser to see if the house has in fact increased that much in value.
Wonder if its possible that its a "perfect storm" as well. Assessment, property tax due in WA, property tax due in CT, mortgage due, bills due, possibly he filed for a late payment for his income tax (to bring the IRS theory back into the equation).... interesting theory definitely. And the name difference could make Phil believe that he's so smart that noone can find this information.

Hey guys, not sure if this has been posted before but i did some digging and found the following after a ballache of a search, not sure if relevant but I did notice:
1. Leanna not on the property
2. he owes almost 2k in property tax by october
3. his name is listed as "Phil Burell" - could be a typo or could be to throw people off the scent, either way might help to shed light on the vlahg

How dare you bring facts into my conjecture! Your fine work prompted me to add another nail to the the Leanna owning half the house coffin. It's time to bury it. It gets curiouser and curiouser.

No. He uses a proper tax accountant who signs off on his returns. There is no way a legit tax accountant would sign off if anything was out of place.
He's also worth almost no money to be of interest to the IRS. He's not like Onision owning 2 teslas and 3 houses (ok he may have mortgages on 2 houses).

That's also an interesting possibility.
He has claimed earlier this month that he didn't have to actually overdraft his account and he kinda just scraped by, so its possible that some unexpected amounts have tipped the scales against him.

The number of DSP-disaster fan theories over the last few days rivals GoT, Rick & Morty and The Last Jedi.

Ah, alright. Thanks for the clarification!

With everything that has happened over the last month regarding everything around dsp, you could make a documentary of this mess!

I might be wrong, but feels like someone is using view bot on him again, about 1 000 viewers, but the chat isn't more active than when he has 300...

Nah, I doubt that.
It's probably just because he's actually playing a game that's relevant: https://www.twitch.tv/directory

Most of the games he plays are never that popular. Imagine if he tried to play popular games more frequently...

BTW, I noticed that the only mod listen on his channel (besides DSP and the bot) is deepcraze.
Now I'm not so sure that one moderator who is actually paying attention to the chat is enough to keep 850 people under control...

EDIT: DarksydeGeoff is in the chat. Apparently he's a subscriber. Does DSP ban him usually?

For hi
Today's stream:
  • Phil started 30 minutes late after mentioning on twitter that he was in a bad mood and might have to deal with some personal stuff
  • Apparently he got a phone call about some shit (I missed that because my connection was busy with more important things)
  • "I'm late, I didn't to be late, I had more personal shit creep up on me"
  • "Every 3 months there is something crazy that happens and throw me for a loop and screws everything up"
  • "Just to warn everybody (he says he made the emergency video) coming up there's going to be a lot of things going to be wonky like the schedule" etc etc etc
  • This friday some dude is coming to his house to check his fire alarm (he says this is unrelated to his emergency situation)
  • On Monday he won't be able to stream, he says he has "something going on" and first stream will likely be delayed.
EDIT:
  • "I would honestly expect a lot of stuff to be kind of weird going forward because of this personal stuff going on"
  • "It just sucks that today I had to make a bunch of phone calls today before starting up"
  • "As I said on the video on Monday, the best thing you can do for me now is to be positive, supportive and be nice to me"
  • "Any kind of support you can lend... 'oh phil wants more money'... that's not what I'm talking about"
  • "Every day I'm stressed to the max right now. Nothing to do with me, nothing to do with you, nothing to do with anything"

This does smell of some sort of family problem. Maybe a relative got affected by the hurricane and the rest of the family is getting together to raise some money to help, and Phil got pissed about it?

Not exactly a surprise when he's been stagnant during the 'Hardcore Season'.

Since we're still dipping into possibilities, I want to try to propose another angle: what kind of situation would make Phil so lofty? This is a guy who wanked it on stream, and revealed Leanna's history and is still trucking along. He keeps making this seem like if this goes public or isn't cooled down, he'll never shrug it off, like it's DaddyofZero levels.

Welp he's complaining about the netcode and da lag inputs and da latency and that he doesn't like da online play.

I guess having 800 viewers who are tipping a fair amount and putting up with a dumb game is terrible, but please play SF2 for weeks on end crying about it lol.

He tends to play the latest games, but usually struggles to get this amount of viewers after the first day, now suddenly he has nearly 1 000 and a "dead" chat.

EDIT: Think he might have banned DarksydeGeoff once or twice, but i find it a bit funny seeing him subbed to DSP since the guy is a big LTG fan and LTG despise DSP.

I know everyone's heard it already but I think it really needs to be posted verbatim for all to read so people know exactly what was said.

"The problem is all the work I've put into this...this...this...entity...this...eh it's not a business it's...cause it's not, I don't own a business, I don't legally own a business anywhere."

When he first exclaims "it's not a business!" he fails his arms & gets all wide-eyed & looks up at the ceiling. Now I'm not saying that means he's getting audited or that I agree with any of the other theories out there but that is one peculiar statement. It's not just a throw away line. There's definitely something there.

That's why I put sexual harassment lawsuit as an option in the wildcard issues in my breakdown of da emergency possibilities:
https://kiwifarms.net/threads/darksydephil-theycallmedsp-phil-burnell.975/page-1595#post-2615880

I've also added stuff about family/relatives being affected by natural disaster in the wildcard section.
