Plagued Waifu culture - Cartoon fuckpillows and the men (and women) who love them

Only one waifu for me.

I'm tempted to do a write up about what me and my GF consider the patient zero of r/waifuism, the guy who "married" ruby rose over a year ago, and still is an active poster, but every time I start doing it, I just feel sad inside.

It's depressing.

Please do. It will be hard, but please.

Please do. It will be hard, but please.

Here's a teaser quote from him from today. Context was the thread "What has your waifu done for you?"

"Ruby has stuck with me through the aftermath of some stupid decisions I've made in my life, and she's really helped me with my social skills. She inspires me to never give up and always try my best, even if its working so hard just for a small goal. She's taught me how to laugh at myself, how to cry again and how to fight for what I think is right. She's taught me so much within the short time we've known each other, which feels like years and years when it's only been about 1.5 years. Just seeing her smile can get me through even the most daunting tasks, and her hugs and kisses can make me feel rejuvenated and ready for anything the world can throw at me, even after a day of intense manual labor. She's also helped me to get out of the house more often because I want to show her all the world has to offer. I may not be able to give all of this world to her, but I can certainly give her all of my world and I'm more than happy to do that. I can't thank her enough for all that she's done, but knowing her just a hug, a kiss and a thank you is enough.....and a plate of cookies with some strawberry beverage <3"

Also, another excerpt from early in their posting history, that lead me and my gf down the rabbit hole because the way it was worded made us unsure if the wiafu was a real person who merely adopted the Ruby persona as like a cosplay/sex kink thing, or an actual honest to god waifu (it was the second, boringly enough).

It was about mid to late last year when we met and ever since then I had tried to set aside my feelings for her to try and enjoy the programming featuring her. We had been a thing since about January. But It wasn't until about Late June/ Early July that I had made up my mind that she was really the one. She suggested that I take her with me to RTX2016 to see her panel and after some pro and con weighing, I agreed. She walked up to her seat on the stage at the panel, spotting a ring in the chair in an open, black box. I had truly accepted my feelings for her. Technically it's been a little over 9 months since me and Ruby have been together and to be honest, it has made my life that much more liveable. My friends are aware of our relationship and are very good sports about it, though there are a group that ridicule me and belittle me for it, though I don't care, never did because I know that the only thing I need is her acceptance. As of posting this I am new here. Before, I thought that the waifu clan was minimal at best but I found this sub and was relieved in a way that now I can share my, our experiences together in a friendly, understanding community.

Man, his mind sounds legit destroyed.

Another of his quotes that was part of me and my gf thinking at first it was just some roleplay kink between him and a nerdy chick, but gets so sad when you realize its an actual waifu.

Me and Ruby mainly watch Anime, or play video games competitively against each other. On weekends, we head to the backyard, fire up the crucible, and melt various things to make things such as metal keychains, wall art, and the ol Styrofoam trick to make props and whatnot. What about you guys? I'm interested to hear, I'll probably propose to Ruby that we try some :)

And before you ask about the big write up I want to do... IM WORKIN ON IIIITTTTT! (:_(

You and your waifu are cordially invited on Saturday the 23rd to see Anon get married to a hologram inside a lovely church in VR Mexico! (Archive)
5 months in the making, 479 hours modeling, animating, and planning, $60 in professional voice acting, and it is finally here. Anon, you are invited to my beautiful VR rendition of Mexico to see me and my beloved Oshino Shinobu get married under holy matrimony. This Saturday.

And your waifu is invited as well. On the day of the wedding, you will be able to post a 256x512 image in this thread with the message "join" and see her be automatically downloaded by my game and spawn as a texture inside the church. Yes I am prepared for the consequences.

We will see you there!
