Unpopular opinions about food

I hate burnt meat, especially what most of America considers a "well-done" steak, burger or lamb chop. Shit has no taste & the consistency of shoe leather. Give a 1" thick Ribeye two minutes on each side on the grill, and a five minute rest and I'm good to go.

Husband and I tend to eat our steak either rare or blue when we can. We like to taste meat, not creosote.

Also, pop really hurts my throat so I don't drink it except very, very, very rarely and even then...

My husband is the same way. He says he doesn't like the way it burns in his mouth/throat. The only soda he'll (rarely) drink is orange soda (Fanta or otherwise), strangely enough.

I like to dip white cheddar Cheezits in chocolate frosting. I just think chocolate/cheese can be a great combination.

I also can't stand plain milk. I'll drink chocolate milk, but plain white milk triggers a gag reflex in me. I can't stand raisins either, though I do like craisins.

I often eat salad without dressing and if I do have dressing, it must fit my high standards and it has to be a small amount, enough to taste and not overwhelm the other stuff in the salad. But yeah, I eat salad plain very, very often.

I save the ranch for subpar pizza crust. I like the "asian" salad dressing.

I prefer Diet Coke over regular soda, and the sodas made with real sugar with sickening to me, ever since I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes a couple of years ago.

I also hate bacon, sweet tea made with sugar instead of Equal, meat on my pizza, and I like the Kraft Mac N Cheese more than any other. I'm very picky about my bottled water too, I only like Evian and Fiji.

I should also mention another quirk of mine loving sauerkraut to the point of eating it plain. A lot of my family does that too since we all acquired the taste so it isn't seen as odd unless I am around others.

Oh! Yeah! I love to put the thin hot dog sauerkraut on my nachos at 7-11.

I fucking hate eggs, cannot stand them. People look at me like I'm from Mars when I say this, it's like you have to have some underground meeting for egg haters. Hilariously, of course, I spent part of my life on a chicken farm. (Chickens, however, I find very tasty)

I don't like chocolate, cookie stuffing and sea food (except for shrimp, I love shrimp). Also I like my hot dogs with mashed potatoes on it.

I have never heard of doing that. Is there something you like about it particularly? (and I'm really genuinely interested)

Well, bangers and mash is delicious, so I can imagine that a hot dog with mashed potatoes would be just as good, and in a handheld form.

Where I live, we have Japanese hot dog food carts and the locals like their hot dogs with cream cheese, so mashed potatoes doesn't sound much stranger to me.

I think it's the texture and the hot dog sauce makes it very tasty.

I think I ate bangers and mash at nearly every meal I had in the UK, and I never had a bad one. It is delicious.

And I would totally try hot dog and mashed potato, it weirdly makes sense to me.

What does "blue" mean, I've never heard it in reference to steaks before.

I read something about never ordering meat cooked above medium, although I used to order my steaks medium-well. I liked that advice and meat cooked at medium has a flavor that I didn't notice at medium-well before.

The bottled versions of Baja Blast that they're selling in stores now is quite bland. Never had the fountain version at Taco Bell because I try to avoid fast food.

The only kind of sushi I like is salmon sushi. I dunno.

I like Baja Blast, esp. when mixed with the Sangria. That was the only reason I went to Taco Bell for awhile.

I haven't tried to use chopsticks in awhile but I sucked at it when I tried. Maybe I can try it again.

I also like salmon sushi, esp. the spicy salmon.

Strangely, I don't like many of my countries cuisine dishes. Things like Stew Fish, Curry Chicken, Peas n Rice, Boil Fish, I just can't stand and I can't stand the smell of it either. The island locals also eat a lot of Jamaican Hot Patties on the ferry and they stink so bad.

I'm a big fan of fish though, the local seafood is real good.

"Blue" is also known as "Blue Rare". Basically the steak is nearly raw on the inside.

I really dislike condiments. I'll eat them don't get the wrong, but by choice I never eat mustard, mayo, or ketchup. Even with fries.

I love a rare lamb chop, especially off the rib end of the loin. So juicy and tasty. If it ain't bleedin' you ain't eatin'.

Baja blast mixes well with vodka. Really well.

One weird thing with me is I hate ketchup on french fries, I'd much rather have mayonnaise- especially homemade.

I prefer dark meat chicken over white meat chicken.

There is nothing special about Mountain Dew Baja Blast. It's not crack. It's just carbonated sugar water like all other soda.

Using chopsticks is fun!
I just don't care for Mountain Dew at all. I like just Sprite and some local brands.
