He regurgitated some /pol/-tier talking points in the heat of the moment in an online debate. Most people (even a good chunk of GAFers I assume) realize that this wasn't representative of him as a person, but there's no way they'd give up an opportunity to circlejerk so they force this ridiculous narrative that he's a white supremacist. It's a wonderful opportunity to REEE and to harass people for associating with JonTron (already happening to the devs in this case) and it's totally guilt-free because muh nazis.

Maybe if these monkeys hadn't shunned their parents since teen-hood they'd learn that practically anyone famous or worth admiring is fucked in one way or another. Giving last generation's actors and musicians access to Twitter made this painfully obvious, but of course the stars of the internet are too smart for such shenanigans, right?

Cosby is a rapist, Cher can't stop tweeting about politics, Charlie Sheen can't put together a sentence, MJ is a pedophile, Arnold did drug-crazed orgies.

At least for a literal nazi Jon attempts to satisfy his :autism: following, but as we all know that's impossible for even the biggest of spineless doormats these days. It took years for one of his opinions to slip out and it was forgotten in a month. This is starting to reach the same level of idiocy as "don't give Trump any attention, I say as I retweet and "argue" against him twice a day".

Because Yooka-Laylee had their buddies in the team. A few members of the team were tied to the usual suspects in the Indie circuit, and you know what that means.

The Steam Forum became a bloodbath within a day because they responded to the controversy by cheerfully throwing Jon under the bus.

So if you were wondering why anyone cared what a forum loaded with pedophiles and their apologists thinks, that would be why.

I think it's equally likely they locked the thread because the game has been released (to good reviews from what I've seen so far) and Jon is still in the game, and I don't think the devs even made a statement about Jon's involvement. The mods probably want to bury any sign of gafs declining influence.
