You have a bunch of nerds who feel that since the media is creating flims/shows geared towards them, that these nerds should have the last say on what they want to happen. Whether its a better star wars film or more asian sauce, the entitilement that many fans have goes a very long way.

Its quite sad and worrying actually.

i don't actually know how you're supposed to interpret canonical references through the lens of the whole "infinite possibilities/universes" theme, but a lot of the fans interprets it as "everything goes, including my weird shit" so that might explain a lot of the bases behavior. it definitely explains the porn even though nothing really has to.

edit: I just saw the post with the screenshots about the show creator tweeting about rick & morty being in a relationship, so i guess that solves in the incest porn mystery

We all know Reddit neckbeards are the reason the fanbase is cancer, and I suppose tumblr is responsible as well.

I've noticed that a lot of hard left and antifa fuckers on twitter (rose and hammer + sickle in the username types) seem to really, really, really hate this show and the fandom around it to an extreme degree. I guess because of the aforementioned Reddit fan base? "lol those damn liberals and their atheist cartoons"

But Pickle Rick is the dumbest fucking thing to ever come out of the series. The episode was shit. I never understood the hype for the episode and how everyone was pumped for a Pickle Rick.

Even before the episode you had videos on YouTube covering bullshit theories on what the episode would be about and how could he become a pickle.

After the episode dropped you had even more videos about theories on WHY he became Pickle Rick and the significance of him becoming a pickle.

Add in the fans just randomly shouting Pickle Rick for no reason, it really shows how the show and its creator have truly been molded by the autistic fanbase.

I really love Rick and Morty, but being one of those people that enjoys stuff outside of fandoms, I only sort of noticed people hating the latest season.
Reading this thread, seeing what shit is going on in the fandom, makes me happy that I keep the stuff I like more or less to myself. I had no idea this shit reached beyond the mess of the Steven Universe fandom.
