Infected The Rick and Morty fandom and haters

"on behalf of all rick and morty fans i apologize for how the fans have acted, the show is actually very well written and i'm sad all the idiots ruin it for the normal people like me"

Hey autists- this isn't a fucking thread about whether or not you think the show is good. No one cares what you think.

We're here to talk about the extreme fanbase and extreme-haters being spergs. If you belong to one of those two categories, either pretend you don't or get the fuck out, because we're here to ridicule you.

Now I think it's a good time to label this thread as "infected".

Holy shit. I had no idea there was this much controversy over a gross out cartoon about a mad scientist. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but somehow I still am. Even this thread, on a forum that really should know better, it's turning into an autism feedback spiral. People are way too worked up about whether other people do or don't like the show that has an alternate dimension that's nothing but giant farting butts featured in the very first episode.

Personally I'd never seek the show out by myself, but if someone wants to watch it I can enjoy a few episodes. It's occasionally really funny, and I can respect that they successfully turned "trying too hard" into a running meta joke.

But damn. If you're getting mad that people hate it or like it you should recalibrate what you think is important.

It's like whenever a fandom grows too big it becomes toxic. I wonder if this is actually a new phenomenon or if it's just more visible nowadays with the internet and social media.
Probably because the most autistic and obnoxious fans are also the most likely to put themselves out there and sperg to random people about how smart and deep they are for liking the show.
