Every show has its toxic fanbase, I wonder what makes some really pop out and become the majority or the loud minority. Is it because of the creators trying to take advantage of that part of their fanbase? Or is it because of how the show handles itself?
It's really entertaining to witness(except those musica.ly videos, they physically hurt), honestly. Even if I never watched the show.

I can honestly say after watching both shows that Mr. Pickles, though people love to shit on it as one of the worst cartoons Adult Swim has made, is legitimately funnier and more intelligently written than Rick and Morty

And if you actually are looking for deep nihilistic humor and not just saying it to look edgy, go fucking watch BoJack Horseman already

Rick and Morty is an okay show, but the fanbase tends to attract exceptional people (eg. likes of Steven Universe, Undertale and others). I find a lot of the time it tries too hard to be edgy and random. The louder parts of the fanbase reminds me of those euphoric atheists who go around trying to convince others they're smarter than everyone else just because they like a show with sci fi elements. It's obnoxious, and they're forgetting it's just a cartoon.

Futurama had more charm imo.

the best rick & morty joke is the one where morty, the underage 14 year old, almost gets violently raped in a restroom by a goofy jellybean, but it was his fault because the adventure was his idea in the first place. extremely good cartoon for adults. very deep & nuanced too.
