Culture School in Biloxi removes "To Kill a Mockingbird" from reading list - See, it makes students "uncomfortable"

This is so depressing. One of the most anti-racist books of our time, a work that teaches about equality and fighting injustice, isn't being taught, because kids are "uncomfortable" about the language.

Duh, isn't that the fucking POINT of the book? You're SUPPOSED to be angered by it! Sometimes, great literature is meant to make us upset and "uncomfortable". That's how we learn.

Technically, this is nothing new. However, whereas schools previously pulled the book for references to rape and offensive language, now they are doing it in fear "promoting racism" when that book is one of the most important text in treating others with equal justice, especially in the face of moral hysteria.

Books such as these educated people away from extremism or raving, and these administrators are removing them as if they were restraints to their current platforms, which are mostly ravings in themselves.

Either that, or the soccer moms just don't want to bring up nasty moments in history, when those moments are the ones that should be remembered to prevent them from being repeated.

Do the people who do this shit have a long term goal? Like do they have a specific future they are trying to reach? I mean, we've said it on these forums plenty of times before, this is just enforcing in children the idea that they should avoid anything that makes them uncomfortable. And it's especially strange given that the left is absolutely obsessed with differences, you know what else makes people uncomfortable? Gay sex, smelly people from other countries, shitty desert religions created by pedophiles. Studies have shown that one of the biggest differences between leftists and rightists is that people on the right have a lower tolerance of the disgust reaction, so I wouldn't be surprised if part of the reason the latest generation are such shitlords is because the left have been developing that characteristic in them by accident.

On a side note, I asked an sjw former friend of mine once if she had a future she was working towards. We had been talking about Trump’s 'grab em by the pussy' comment and I said no matter how much you cry sexism, we will never be rid of that kind of locker room talk amongst men. She said she thought I was too pessimistic, she was optimistic we will live in a future where men never talk about women like that. I wish I was optimistic enough to think she was alone in that.

There is often an innate moral instinct in people that tells them that by some law, by progress, or by the good-hearted nature of mankind, that there is immanent justice in the world and everything will work itself out in the end. It's the same instinct that lead Christians to suppose that all the misery on earth will one day be transformed by God's wisdom into perfect bliss, or the early evolutionists to assume that time must inevitably favor all changes of nature which increase life and augment happiness.

But this is not the case. Wishful thinking and acting upon it does not compensate for the myopia that prevents people from seeing the actual result of their actions. What people need is complex planning; the ability to realize that the correct path to a goal requires some steps that don't initially seem to get you closer to the goal, or even steps that seem to contradict it. It is one of the cognitive abilities that separates us from 99.9% of other animals, and it is what lead us to civilization.

The concept of an unscrupulous sprint to the Good is based solely upon simplistic planning, which implies superficial thought or an inability to dwell long enough on a thought to see if it really is the way you perceive it to be. It is like pushing into a fixed glass wall that is in the way of a present when all you need to do is walk to the side.

These social justice campaigns say that any and every approach towards "love and unity" is a good one, which becomes a contradiction when exposed to the ones because the real world and its situations are far more complicated than that. All this curriculum is teaching children is that this unscrupulous approach will work and thus that everything will work out in the end, as long as these unchecked measures are reinforced and any seemingly contradictory ones are removed.

Yes. You see once people are no longer able to read such obviously offensive language in books, hear or see it in movies, on the internet, ect., then the world will be less racist because... reasons... and um, feels and all the bad people in the world will either suddenly give up and become nice people or they'll vanish in a puff of smoke.

Now I'd like to say I'm being hyperbolic, but from the few sjws I've encountered, the soccer moms and the 'feels before reals' crowd this is about as planned out as it gets. No real idea on how any of that shit is going to happen or how people will just quit being "mean", but somehow, some way it'll happen according to them.
