On top of the nutrition aspect, Susan has programmed them to think the most minuscule of normal behavior merits reward. It's fine to treat your kids. But when you do it as a constant form of bribery, they'll be severely unprepared to handle real-world situations in which performing a specific task is not rewarded. Being an adult means performing a lot of thankless jobs. You don't get a cookie every time you lift something.

She uses the klonopin for sleep, iirc. Which makes me suspect her of having hoarded up stimulants even more; you always need a downer if you're ever gonna sleep on uppers.

She could just be on low doses.
She probably feeds the kids all of her klonopin though. Would explain a lot.
 
I don't doubt she takes a benzo to occasionally sleep. I also don't doubt she takes an SSRI of some kind, to keep her mania going.

I don't think she would willingly take anything that stabilizes her, reduces mania. In other words, the kind of drugs she uses on her children. She needs those more than any schizophrenic.

Susan insists that the Vegas shooter is a mentally ill man who was denied proper medication. No, there's no way he was just an asshole, or a lone wolf with a death wish and too an big ego to die alone. Literally every person who shoots people is schizo, and only Susan Schofield, MD can see it.

Being known as mentally ill carries the very worst social stigma of all, guys. Worse than being a criminal. Is that why you screech nonstop about how mentally ill your kids are, because there's nothing that could poison their google results and futures worse than the media coverage you demand?

Lastly, Susan expects a summer release date for "Documentary of My Kids and Also Homeless People and Also All Mentally People Will Be Advocated For Oh and The School Systems and the 'School to Prison Pipeline' and how Jani's school IEP is Just Awful For Reasons" (or title TBD, who the fuck knows what mess we'll end up with.)

Susan reminds me of drug addicts, both former and current. Everyone is on drugs as far as they're concerned. EVERYONE. No matter who keels over randomly, no matter who lives an ultra clean life but gets fucked over by a dicky heart, no matter who faints in the middle of a searing heat wave, no matter who has a severe allergic reaction to legit meds prescribed by a legit doctor, no matter how old the pensioner... All of them drug addicts.

That said, druggies are always convinced that any sign of mental illness is because of drug abuse. Susan has it the wrong way around.

If this is the kind of place I think it is... it won't last long with Susan around.
She never fails to be insanely loud and manic, they wont allow her to disrupt others that are there for animal therapy (I'm basing this on them letting someone as zoned out as Jani "volunteer" there) .

If Jani's advocate wasn't too busy kissing Susans ass, she would see how good this could be for Jani and at least attept to be a fucking advocate and make sure Jani can be in this program as long as possible.

She and her brother have some form of permanent brain damage now. They've been pumped full of psychoactive drugs since they were toddlers, and that means that any form of normal brain development has been severely fucked up. They can't come back, because they never got there in the first place.
