If this is the kind of place I think it is... it won't last long with Susan around.
She never fails to be insanely loud and manic, they wont allow her to disrupt others that are there for animal therapy (I'm basing this on them letting someone as zoned out as Jani "volunteer" there) .

If Jani's advocate wasn't too busy kissing Susans ass, she would see how good this could be for Jani and at least attept to be a fucking advocate and make sure Jani can be in this program as long as possible.

She won't revel the name of the place, but thanks the horse places Jani went to for therapy when she still had two working eyeballs and could string words together.

Oh, and Susan is leaving Jani there unsupervised to work. While I would normally be over the moon when an abused child of an overbearing narcissist gained autonomy... how the fuck could it be safe for Jani to be working alone around large animals, and be alone around adults outside of a school or therapy context (i.e. around mandated reporters), when she can barely stand up on her meds? That sounds like a liability every which way, or a predator's wet dream. Maybe I'm just a hater, but that kid needs to dry out a bit before she can build.

Yeah, I can't imagine trying to get a kid with sensory and autism issues to deal with the pain and maintenance routines of braces. Some kids with developmental delays can't really get braces because they will tug at them and ruin them with unacceptable foods and tear the shit out of their mouths.

Susan has repeatedly claimed that despite Jani and Bodhi having "autistic traits" (because of course they're really schizo), neither has sensory issues. This is why she constantly exposes them both to noise, chaos, and sensory overload without a second thought. She likes to bring up that schizophrenic persons often have "hygiene issues" due to hallucinating, and puts any dislike of teeth / hair brushing, or bathing, down to the schizophrenia she knows her children have, rather than it being literal torture for autists who are easy overloaded.

Quick update: Susan had to sign work release papers for Jani to be allowed to work at age 15. Does Jani get paid? Can she control her own money? (some weirdness happened around this guy Reuben's death. He was only 30 years old, apparently was a shut in, and had a sudden heart attack according to Susan.)

Susan seems to have unfriended the woman who told Cory about Reuben's death. Knowing Susan's manic paranoia, she probably thinks this lady is trying to fuck her unemployable husband.

It's pretty dangerous for Jani to be on those med and be around such large animals. Even the tamest horses will kick/bite/try to escape if you're not paying attention. Since Jani is in a constant haze, I hope somebody will be supervising her pretty closely.

Jani's going to have to be supervised all the time, no matter what Susan says. She's going to be kind of a burden on the employees since they'll have to have her tagging along, giving her just enough to do so she's not just sitting in a corner but at the same time not expecting very much from her. And knowing that Susan will probably want to hover over their shoulder and screech constantly all the time.

Not to mention that if word gets back to Psycho Susan that Jani is being given menial tasks to do instead of being treated like a 25 year old expert stablehand, she will reeeeeeeeeee and yank Jani out. Jani could probably muck out a stall or help clean tack with minimal supervision or danger, but Susan wouldn't be having any of that.

And of course once Jani starts showing the teensiest bit of drive or independence or autonomous thought, Susan will pull her out and load her full of meds again until she's back to drooling on herself.

What could be a nice opportunity for Jani will definitely be ruined by Psycho Susan.

Skimmed through about half the thread, and I'm baffled. First off, why's she feeding her kids Thorazine? Isn't that like, really bad? If those kids really do need antipsychotics, why not give them something more modern with less side-effects? I might be a tard, but I thought Thorazine wasn't even around anymore. Maybe that's just my country though, idk.

And god, Jani's fucked for life. Her brain's so fried there's no way she's ever gonna be able to live on her own and care for herself. If we could go back nine or so years in time and get CPS to take her and her brother away, perhaps things woulda looked different. Now though? No way in hell. Jani's fucked, and Bodhi as well. Really has me shocked that there are actually parents out there willing to do such things to their children just in order to draw attention to themselves. Perhaps momma Schofield needs some time in the loony bin, too.

I doubt very much that she'll spend any significant time in direct contact with any of the beasties. She'll be strictly supervised as she 'grooms' the pretty horseies, but in reality she'll get token tasks like cleaning tack or mucking out stalls, and as soon as she leaves for the day, a stable hand will have to come up behind her and redo everything from the beginning. It's not a job, it's therapy. The stable managers know absolutely how impaired she is and what needs to be done so she's kept safe.

That said, there's no doubt that Jani won't be there too long and the managers know this as well. Susan loathes seeing Jani and Bodhi happy. Jani will have two, maybe three days there before Susan's pathological jealously flares up, and that poor lass will be yanked away from yet another source of happiness. Only Susan is allowed to be happy, see. It strikes me that the stable managers are kind people who want to give Jani the meager pittance she's allowed.

Seems like stimming (god do I hate that word) to me.
She seems absolutely re.tarded in this video. In a clinical sense. She is speaking like a toddler, lolling her head around, flapping her hands. And of fucking course Susan has to be there. If that horse place had any sense they would tell Susan that she is not allowed to be there - but then of course Jani couldn't either.
Literally the only good thing Susan did was get Jani to slow down and say "I listen to my boss" correctly. But the rest of the time she was just barking, barking, barking at Jani to do this and say that and look there.

The kid physically can't see with her walleyes, and comparing her mental deterioration with her earlier self - bright, articulate, responsive even if a bit weird - with her current state, it's like Jani's brain is melting in front of our eyes. Losing speech, losing control over her eyes, holy shit. I don't think even if she were dried out of all her meds, that she'd ever recover from this.

Susan's nearly got her wish to be the martyr parent of Hartley potatoes, if she can just melt Bodhi's brain so he stops moving around on her.
