Obsidian did bend over once for them regarding a """transphobic""" backer added poem in Pillars of Eternity. They allowed the guy to change the poem, which he did, into a more snarky comment on the affair.
To which someone modded the original poem back in, so it was a double fuck you to gaf.
Again, nowadays it's a case by case basis. I remember they bitched about Kingdom come: deliverance not having black people to which the lead designer basically said "there were no black people in medieval Bohemia, eat shit."
And of course, A Hat in Time and JonTron.

How can people on GAF not understand that SJWs aren't hated because they are for social justice but because their means of enacting social justice are regressive? Like, every goddamned time someone posts something anti-sjw they respond with, "why do you hate social justice?".

Typical hive minded groupthink/cult behavior. They think the same, behave the same, and speak the same. They fall behind leaders. They believe themselves to be a chosen elite, the only purveyors of what's right in an unjust world. Typical of cult mentality, anyone who does not agree or sympathize with the group is the Enemy, and the Enemy is everywhere, surrounding their hug box perimeters. Any dissimilar opinion is stuck in a neat category like 'Racist,' 'Misogynist,' or 'Nazi.'
It's also takes a lot less effort to do that than to try and understand someone else's position. But it doesn't matter because those are the Enemies who "hate social justice."

That was one of the most well known tactics by the SJWs (or Anti-GG but let's be honest, they were always one and the same) during Gamergate. I remember they went whole hog trying to get Thunderf00t fired from his science job because he was so outspoken against them.
Yooka-Laylee probably was the last gasp of power...and ironically it didn't matter in the end if JonTron was in it or not because that game had its fair share of problems.

It also doesn't help that their idea of 'social justice' is, at its core authoritarian and repressive/regressive social engineering. Even if it was brought about peacefully, it would still end in a 1984 situation.

I think dynastia is right, it was never about the left-v-right spectrum. It's the other spectrum: authoritarian thought-policing versus letting people be different. My way is the only way and if you disagree with me on anything, you're you're alt-right/nazi/racist/whatever and I want you punished for questioning me. We both agree rape is bad* but you don't agree how to solve it on every little point so I'm going to call your employer.
In other words, there's a reason neogaf is dead but the evil kiwi farms is the most stable and inclusive community in the realm.

The Warhammer 40000 page on Facebook has been talking about this in the comments, luckily there's a good chance that it's not an official page as it's not verified despite the amount of people following it. Also GW has a history of being all talk to shut people up and never do anything.
Luckily male and female wargamers are fighting against this.
There's also have been comments deleted talking about identity politics and how it doesn't belong in the game.
If NeoGAF is any indication of what happens with a hobby once they give these people an inch, it bodes ill for another fandom.
