. . . How? It's a fucking video game forum! I don't remember any secret KKK meetings on GameFAQs or anyone on the Escapist forums bragging about how much fun they had killing Latinos in GTA. Just a guess, but I think most people who go to a video game forum want to talk about the video games they are playing or anticipating.

Maybe it's just me, but the idea that minorities and women need extra special attention to protect them from the "horrors" of the Internet seems super demeaning.

I think dynastia is right, it was never about the left-v-right spectrum. It's the other spectrum: authoritarian thought-policing versus letting people be different.

What they don't understand is that the more extreme you get in demands for ideological conformity, the fewer people remain willing to put up with your bullshit, and eventually you no longer have a cohesive critical mass sufficient to maintain a community.

Holy shit, did Malka read my post in this thread? He followed my advice to save GAF to a "T". I never thought he would actually get rid of OT and ban politics as well as "Social" *cough SJW cough* discussion though. This was the only way to truly save the site though and it still isn't a given. He has to open it back up to a lot of people banned for wrong think in the past. Place may be too damaged to really grow again. Guess we shall see, good on him for at least shedding the SJWs and cancerous regressive politics of the old board.
