Was NeoGaf generally in favor of PvP at any level, ever? Seems like it would have been too close to "toxic masculinity" for the user base.

Having said that, I do remember being surprised watching some S+ rando's Twitch stream playing competitive Splatoon (the old Wii U version) a while ago, I think after the Switch came out, but before Splatoon 2 did. He made some comment about how he and his "friends on NeoGAF" got together most Sunday afternoons and did competitive matches. I was surprised at that mention because (a) he and his team were VERY good (b) this was a console that was not a Sony and (c) the streamer didn't come across as an utter douchenozzle. When I think of NeoGAF I don't think of (a), (b) or (c) as real possibilities. Yet there it was. Hardly an "elite fighting game," but it is/was a PvP game with pretty robust player base.

Wish I could remember who it was. Was the only encounter I've ever had with NeoGAF "in the wild," so it stuck with me. Unfortunately it was one of those deals where I had Twitch running the background as I was paying bills and it didn't register with me what was said until later on.

Everyone is just talking in circles over at NeoGAF. It's pretty evenly split up between "I don't really care" and "this is terrible im leaving for ResetEra". Community threads are pretty much graveyards and people asking for Discord invites, understandably since NeoGAF is officially pivoting away from them.

Somewhat surprisingly the thread seems borderline un-moderated. People are talking about the Spain ass-grab, Amir0x and the shower thing.

The short time I was at gaf was when DC got released and people were playing that there I must have picked up 30+ friends from that same game and played for months before it died down and I deleted them from PSN. So there ARE gamers there but they are just mega cucked.

I had a good experience playing an MMO with the associated GAF group, but they were quite overleveled compared to me. Still quite helpful.

Can't wait for the inter-forum sperging about who is the "true heir" to NeoGAF to begin. Though I guess the number of people pointing and laughing at both places will outnumber actual participants by a factor of ten.

One thing we should all admit is the SJW dangerhairs's ability to surprise us with their fails.. We were all anticipating some degree of drama, salt & autism from the SecretGamerGnome/Chelsea spat, and we really should have seen our eventual disappointment coming, because it relied on a gnome transtrender stalker's ability to see reality for what it was, and him being able to transcribe the facts & his feelings on it in a coherent manner..

But goddamn it if the SJWs didn't deliver and save our monthly annual centenary quota of salt & autismo!

In less than a week we got:
  1. Tyler Malka getting crucified by his own hugbox over an attention-whoring FB post, later proven to have more holes than swiss cheese..
  2. Tyler immediately going into banhammer modbot lockdown mode, which gives that post credence.
  3. NeoGAF userbase going into freakdown mode, people suspect he is baleeting everything, with one furryfag suicide baiting over the existence of his favorite hugbox.
  4. Many scumbag mods start leaving the ship, including mainstay scumbags like Besada, SJWs start asking journalists to deliver hot takes so they know how to pin it on those dang dirty GG trolls.
  5. Tyler panic-takedowns NeoGAF for about a day, leading to game journalists fretting over their favorite news source, YT celebrities and actual game devs popping champagne over its closure.
  6. Multiple herds of SJWs begin to form, with the intent to make a more oppressive better hugbox, each with their own drama, moles keep leaking said drama, irritating and triggering said herds. At least one mod gets doxed, another prominent poster is revealed to live all the way in Denmark.
  7. Besada waits by his computer, desperately waiting for someone, anyone to give him back the power he once had.
  8. Furryfag mentioned in (3) is doxed, revealing his Ratchet cosplay and Linkin Park montages, possibly made at the ripe old age of 40. He predictably continues to chimp out over it.
  9. Simultaneously, game journalists finally decide to burn their bridges with Tyler, leading to a deluge of articles denouncing the dang dirty sexual harasser who gropes women, sneaks up on them in showers, and totally really truly wasn't our friend/business associate ever!
  10. Tyler brings back the forums, abolishes off-topic forums, bans political talk, makes a reply statement that mentions a bisexual love triangle and secret sex cults among other weird shit male feminists may be into, and replaces his dearly departed thought police with SUPER SECRET thought police, so don't you dare think of doing wrongthink now.
  11. Former userbase starts to go HAM with account kamikaze posts, including some of the most hilarious/racist/salty/autistic posts ever recorded on this here thread. Tyler and his gestapo continue to massacre them accounts in droves.
  12. Said prominent poster from Denmark (6) changes his location on all his accounts to LA, for some reason. But neglects to change his local time, outstanding work bruh.
  13. Besada finally gets that "will you mod our new hugbox" message, he types an understated reply stating he is interested with one hand, while fapping with the other.
  14. Game journos begin shilling for the TRUE & HONEST hugbox, calling the new & improved NeoGAF a nazi forum run by a sex pest. This is all in preparation for the launch of ResetEra, an invite-only CIA/NSA hugbox whose promotional twitter hashtag has more posts mocking it than it may ever have members. A supposed mod roster leaks.
  15. Despite the promo drive, ResetEra doesn't launch on time, having been infiltrated with moles faster than 24's CTU. Autistic screeching commences.
And the drama still isn't over!
