I recently talked to a friend and discussed Steven Universe designs with her... And she showed me this character(s):

Like all of gems, they are supposed to be seen as female.

This is female body.
And I thought this was bad.

I don;t know much about show, only watched a few early episodes, but creators are going a bit too far with "female body diversity". There is nothing suggesting those characters should be seen as female.

Well, to play Devil's Advocate, these are supposed to be sexless alien rock people as well as female coded entities. They don't have to fall 100% into contemporary human concepts of male/female.

Yeah, the gems are aliens who don't reproduce sexually under normal circumstances iirc so it actually makes less sense for them to have boobs/etc than for them to lack them. I always kinda assumed the gems were inspired by the Nameks in DBZ where they're all masculine looking and referred to as male but technically are sexless and reproduce asexually. Especially since Rebecca Sugar is pretty open about being a giant weeb.

Speaking of BNHA, I discovered that one of the artists whose work was posted here earlier actually has decent art, which means she looked at that shitty comic knowing she could do better and posted it anyway. This is, in my opinion, the most egregious shit that ends up here, because it's talented people wasting their abilities on shitty headcanons.
