Lola's feet, with her toes squashed together and curled under, look like pictures of Chinese women who underwent foot binding when they were children. I've said before that I believe she feels pain and if that's true her feet probably hurt as much as those who underwent that terrible procedure.

If anything, Cal is lucky in a way. I have the impression that Gwen is someone with Munchausen's By Proxy who hit the jackpot.

The Ohio legislature has passed a bill making it illegal for a woman who receives a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome to have an abortion. Pure fundie insanity. Retarded fetuses are more important than totally healthy ones apparently.

This from a state where people are dropping dead of ODs like flies and a significant number of babies are born addicted to heroin. I guess the members of the Ohio legislature are all on waiting lists to adopt Down syndrome heroin babies.

(Just to be clear huge difference between DS and potatoes but even with mild DS you have health problems and intellect development so impaired they require a lifetime of care.)

I think Cal had enough outside the family stimulation so he's not super resentful. Unless he wanted to go to a real college and they wouldn't let him. But he must feel some, as soon as the puppets were born it was all about them-even his stuff. Even though he bought in to the whole big brother of 'tards and accepted his role, somewhere inside there must be a little frustration.

Cal is very good for his age, keeping his feelings and resentments off social media. Maybe because he knows mom is watching...

I just hope his girl is really supportive and an extremely good distraction from the gremlins. The lad needs something in his life.

As someone who believes women shouldn't have to prove anything to terminate a pregnancy (after all, women are not merely incubators for the next generation...), that's barbaric.

Children with disabilities, both severe and mild, require unique resources and care some women who are capable of raising a healthy baby cannot provide. Particularly in countries where medical care is essentially a luxury, this seems like the kind of legislature done by people thinking "it can't be that bad!"

And to keep it relevant, Gwen is exactly that kind of person with all the care the potatoes get. Who cares that there are poor families that struggle to raise healthy kids in this country when Gwen has to have a particular type of rubber nipple for Lola because she just can't use any other kind. The same Lola that roots like mad because the dog just walked by.

If he does, I'm sure Gwennie closely monitors them to make sure he doesn't stray from the Hartley party line, doesn't use the dreaded R-word, etc. That poor kid will never be free.

He at least has an Instagram, probably more. I don't remember what it is offhand but I know he gets tagged in Gwen's IG posts, usually as an afterthought.
