This one makes me laugh. I know it’s not a terribly PC attitude but, if you go to a con wearing an outfit more revealing than most strippers, clearly you’re trying to attract attention. It just strikes me as disingenuous to complain when that attention doesn’t come in the form you want/expect.

(Of course, I have a conspiracy theory that a lot of slutty cosplayers are strippers/camwhores trying to drum up business, but that’s a whole other story...)

Could people post at least a name of the character the person is trying to be, if not a picture?

If you can't sew or you don't have money, or whatever, you should try cosplaying as a character that you share basic physical similarities with and who wears mostly normal clothes. I tried being Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls once and I'll admit it was not great in terms of accuracy, but it also wasn't horrendously awful since it's hard for a sweater and a skirt to be awful. Or this Peter Griffin cosplayer:
