I'm not sure why everyone in this thread likes to start on this Cal fanfiction round robin. All we have seen is that he loves his sisters and his family, and we're creating this weird side story that has no evidence to back it up. He has had at least one potato in his life since before he can remember, this is his normal, his baseline. They're his sisters and I don't think it odd to consider he might actually like them.
On top of that, we're creating this narrative that Gwen has him in some stockholme syndrome. There're plenty of reasons to hate on Gwen, we don't need to make up more.

I'm mostly inspired by the grimaces in the photos.
I was wondering about that too, it seemed like he was doing it more lately. But looking through his instagram there are plenty of photos of him grimacing with no potatoes around. i think he might just be bad at smiling.

This picture is worth keeping in mind every time Gwen posts her carefully posed pictures and talks about how they have emotions and watch TV. This picture blows her regular narrative out of the water and I'm surprised she allowed him to post it online.

Where it's much easier for her fundie audience and uninformed bystanders to look at that and think there actually is something going on upstairs. It's all luck and timing but since Claire has her head pointed towards Cal and Lola's lips might be pointing up they can easily think that Claire is actually looking at Cal and Lola is enjoying snuggling up against him.
Side note: I know that the whole pain thing came up again and honestly I don't think there's enough brain matter up there for them to process pain in any sort of meaningful way. All five of their senses are completely useless.

If people who don't know the whole story see a photo like this they'll think the girls are having some interaction with their environment and other people. It's very misleading and creates the false narritive Gwen wants everyone to see.

I just found out about this family through this thread and I was reading the blog post about the shit explosion where Gwen kept referring their daughter as Polly Pocket, an inanimate object, and I had no idea who she was referring to until the end. She only called Lola by her actual name ONCE, otherwise it was “Polly Ann Pocket”. That’s pretty fucking telling...
