Titanfall developer to be EA's latest victim.

Why is it when a company has a Starwars game in the works, some other company buys them out and cancels it?

...still not forgiving Disney for depriving us of 1313.

Bioware should be on there it's been reduced to a few satellite support studios and it's practically a dead man walking at this point.

The reason behind that is because Bioware knew they'd fucked up with ME3 and pissed away a lot of good will, the core teams behind that and Dragon Age are currently working on Anthem in an attempt to save the dumpster fire that has become Bioware's rep. EA tried to expand the Bioware Brand with the opening of Bioware Montreal and that become a hilarious joke as Andromeda continued to give the run to Bioware's now tattered rep.

Anthem will likely be the Bioware Hail Mary for the studio. If it fails, or doesn't meet the sales targets set by EA, then yeah. The studio's going to die.

Once you've been absorbed by EA you're dead. This deal only benefits the owners who sold you as slaves to EA.

You, if you are a programmer, or whatever, for whatever franchise, you're working for a dead franchise and you need to escape with your life.

Anthem is going to bomb. Bioware has 0 goodwill left. People wanted more and better Mass Effect/Dragon Age and they completely failed at doing that. There is no reason to think that they can pull that off with a new franchise. EA is going to stuff that shit full of loot crates and pray that people buy them.

It is on there. Second row from the bottom. It is left of Pandemic. It uses and old logo, nobody seems to recognize it though.

I failed to recognize what Anthem was until I heard the segment with the bad acting at about the 4 minute mark. Wow... That uhhh... that is something else. Release date appears to be Fall 2018. I can only wonder if it will do any worse than BossKey Production's LawBreakers:

It has so much in common with it. Both look incredibly generic and will more than likely be the last game either studios makes.

I'd argue what people wanted was more good stories in amazing settings. It's EA and their marketing arm which locked Bioware into the ME/DA thing, even going so far as to name the two Bioware Teams as the Dragon Age and Mass Effect Teams. They had to outright crash and burn to stop as an endless, generic franchising of Mass Effect.

The thing was people wanted more ME and DA. But yes, nobody wanted generic franchising. People would be willing to wait a few years so it was good. But EA didn't. They treated it like CoD or Battlefield where they have to shit out a new game every year. With story-driven games, you can't do that. So they did what Activision did and just burned their franchises to the ground. Now they have to develop a new one, which they will also eventually burn to the ground. I have no faith in EA/Bioware to pull off anything good or interesting anymore.
