Was listening to the prestream when he whined about the soap stuff that he has to store and throw out. He says, and I quote:

So I guess if there was any doubt that's confirmation that he's sleeping until noon every day. This man has balls the size of watermelons to ever use the phrase "sleep in." He then goes on:

and mentions no additional activities he has to do, pretty much establishing (I know, I know, as if there was any doubt) that he spends 13 hours a day idle or sleeping yet claims he has no free time. Unless he's sleeping 9+ hours a day, and he claims to be more around 6, that's 4+ hours a day being 100% pissed away on stuff (TV and movies) that does nothing more than occupy time until he dies.

He is just throwing it out there that he enjoy playing Mario, but wont any money than what people gives him in cheers and bits and the only reason he still does the playthrough is because people have been very generous!

Traveling to your job is meaningless and everybody should work from home instead.

Nobody has said they're anti-fair use. I've just said you were wrong, and you're continuing to be wrong.
Arguing the validity of law isn't the same thing as being an advocate for/against the law, so stop letting your contempt influence how you view the law.

You claim that MST3K is proof of fair use in the case of movies, then you go on to say they and YouTube never fought the copyright claims in court. So they would rather back off than prove that fair use is valid. They have proved that DMCA currently is very valid though.

you can totally monetize videos of yourself reading copyrighted material, it just depends on how you work it. will it likely be taken down if the copyright holder finds out? if they're a dick, yeah, but doesn't mean it's illegal. like if it's a dramatic reading with some editing and shit. the reason smaller fish/yters don't want to fight it is because it costs a shitton of money and time, and most likely anyone they're fighting against will want to take it all the way to the supreme court (or the yter will want to, but end up losing in the first round or two and be unable to continue. and before you say it, no, just because someone loses in the lower courts does not automatically mean they have an invalid case, especially with shit that hasn't really been legislated before, like let's plays or dramatic readings.)

Any source on info about their copyright woes? From what I understood they actually had licensed almost all of the movies via the channel itself, which in order to fill dead air or unexpected delays in content they have a certain agreement with companies that hold rights to tons of old movies. So as a result those movies usage for the show WAS paid for and legally legitimate, but the dvd reproduction wasn't, which is why so many can't be released or found like that.

Though, that's just a cursory knowledge and I'd love to know more about how that ended up working out because this whole DMCA thing is a sticky web of greed and insanity that no one seems too sure of.
