Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

If patreon really is that limp-wristed. They have a dead straight case to shut down Brianna's account because she's no longer doing what she's paid to do.

OK, but they have every reason in the world not to do that. They make money off of Wu making money. The only losers in the situation are the dummies that willingly give money to this scam.

Brianna is no longer making video games. She's a wannabe politician and unless she updates her account to reflect this, she's lying.
And even then, collecting political donations via things like Patreon is a campaign fundraising violation. John would have to make up some new bullshit for why he needs a Patreon.

As much as I applaud Patreon for saying they are going to crack down on these scam accounts, I'm not going to take them seriously until they remove higher profile people like Brianna Wu who've made thousands of dollars for years while producing nothing and having zero accountability to their backers. I could easily see Wu having some secondhand connection that would keep his play money intact though.

You flew to DC but you drove home, John what the fuck.

As far as I'm concerned, Patreon is literally nothing but a scam platform for criminals to swindle people and they're totally okay with this as long as they get their cut. These days, when I see someone has a Patreon, I just assume they're a swindler of some sort.

Well if we're in need of conversation starters (which I don't understand, because John's freakish, mutilated appearance is surely one of the most legendary conversation pieces on these Farms), here's a horrible thought to noodle. The cascading sex scandals engulfing Hollywood and politics have touched a sitting Senator today, with Al Franken being pretty convincingly accused of being a pervy scumbag. What if -- what if, my friends -- Stephen Lynch gets hit by this and is forced to step down? What if it happens super close to the primaries? What if Brianna Wu, alias John Flynt, alias the Ghoul of Gamergate, ends up running for the Dem nomination unopposed? What if through some horrible stroke of malign chance Brianna Wu actually ends up as a Congress...thing? What then?!?!
I'm convinced we could just pay a joke candidate to run for shits and giggles and still do better than Wu. Just pay a homeless man, or hell, hire Lord Buckethead to fly in and do it.

Edit: For bonus points, Frank reveals all along he's been in the race and is actually going to win, then make Wu pay for all those nerf shots he took at him.

I mean, you jest but I'm pretty sure that's true.

Anyone who actually seriously campaigned would do better than Wu in the election. I'm sure that Christopher Voehl guy is going to get more votes, even if they're write ins. Wu is just too fucking lazy to compete. Anything that can't be done from her house with a PS4 controller in her hand isn't going to get done.

Same. They can pretend they're all about artists but the site has so many "woke" losers on Twitter who use it as their welfare that I don't buy it. In fact, you're punished for producing actual content because it just increases your chance that some crybaby won't like a joke and will report you.

If Patreon actually cared about this, they could easily implement automated tools that would combat abuse. Requiring the person to login once a month to post an update seems fair. But when you have someone like Wu who hasn't touched the site in years, it's pretty clear you're not a site for creators, you're a site for freeloaders and con artists.

Or, heck, imagine Brianna Wu being the one to accuse Stephen Lynch of sexual assault. Honestly, I'm surprised she hasn't claimed to be a sexual assault survivor; it's one of the only forms of me-tooism she hasn't jumped on yet.

I wonder what Frank thinks about Flynt/Wu gushing about how happy he is to be home with the dogs while pointedly making no mention of Frank? Maybe Frank understands that the phrase "my dogs" includes him.

Flew there, drove back... cagey about why...

She just bought another car, didn't she. :story:
He wants people to think he was there for “important” reasons because John is a very important and serious congressional candidate.

He’ll post about the car after the dust settles and he thinks people will have forgotten about his trip.

It's astounding how bad Wu is at bragging. Now she brags that she loves her dog so much, that she would stuff that the poor thing into a travel cage and put it through a noisy 2 hour flight twice a week....
...granted the dogs of the Wu household are used to live in tiny cages.
That's mostly because you don't know any parents, John.

I cannot stand people that constantly talk like they are an expert on everything and have an anecdote about everything that relates back to them.

Like you don't have to say "I have rarely known a parent...". You could just say "the tax burden on working class parents is too high and we should not be subsidizing the 1% on the backs of working class families". Full stop.
Wu - English
"I have rarely known a X, that...." - "I don't know any X, but from what I heard, I assume that..."

Also, the grotesque creature is using words wrong again:
grotesque
ɡrə(ʊ)ˈtɛsk/
adjective
  1. comically or repulsively ugly or distorted.
    "a figure wearing a grotesque mask"
    Synonyme: malformed, deformed, misshapen, misproportioned, distorted, twisted, gnarled, mangled, mutilated;

    ugly, unsightly, monstrous, hideous;
    freakish, unnatural, abnormal, bizarre, outlandish, strange, odd, peculiar;
    fantastic, fanciful, whimsical;
    informal weird, freaky, fugly;
    informal rum;
    informal huckery
    "a grotesque creature with a flattened body and a squashed head"
"I'm not going to start a political career"

John should have stopped there, it's the last time the sentence was actually true.
It also indicates that even Wu doesn't really believe she is running for congress. Otherwise she would have probably written: 'I've not started a political career....'.

My first thought was a car as well. Wanna bet woman of the people will be posting about a Porsche next? But not one of the models she wants. It’ll be another garbage car that she’ll destroy.

100k+ miles late 90's Porsche Boxster* soft top convertible just in time for winter in Boston where it won't be parked in a garage, it would be a very Wu decision all around.

*the sports car of choice for euro-trash twinks, ditsy girls with a trust fund and newly divorced middle-class men that wants to pick up ditsy girls or twinks. Or it used to be, maybe it has changed.
