and it kind of sucked. However, it's like the recent
Fantastic Four movie where the shitshow of a production is extremely obvious to anyone paying attention. Scenes feel abrupt with no real connective tissue between them, you can easily tell what's reshot and what isn't, and the plot feels like a two hour long shrug for something as momentous as the first
Justice League movie. characters change personality from scene to scene with the worst offender by far being Batman. Batman goes from stoic, to beleaguered, to trying to be snarky, and none of it really works.
Speaking of characters, Steppenwolf has some of the worst motivation I've ever seen in a capeshit villain. he tries to take over the Earth just because he took an L the last time he tried. I'm not joking. Ciaran Hinds's performance is just as ridiculous, to the point where he seems to be channeling Jeremy Irons in Dungeons & Dragons. It's a total waste of The New Gods mythos on an interchangeably-written villain.
For a movie that apparently cost $300 million to make, the effects are shoddy to say the least. Cyborg's design looks like plastic at points, Steppenwolf and his army look straight out of a PS3 game, the green screen is incredibly obvious and you can very much tell that Henry Cavill's face is CG'd over because of his mustache.
That's not to say it's entirely without merit. Ezra Miller at least looks like he wants to be in the movie, and there are some jokes that got a chuckle at most out of me. And compared to other bad movies I've seen this year, I never got angry at it, just more baffled than anything else.
Overall, if you're a fan if the DC movies, you'll probably get a lot more out of it than I did, and good for you. But this movie was a total mess on almost all levels and it shows.
Final score: 3/10
Here's the trailer for
Rampage.
This will clearly be remembered as one of the most important films of the 2010s.
P.S. I also saw the
Rampage trailer before the movie and it looked as "meh" as I expected. I guess that could also just be my inferior tastes shining through.
Which will be fucking

because Darkseid seems to be a bigger threat than Thanos. Darkseid has a number of New God characters under him that can be featured before his eventual showdown with the League.
Yeah, none of that happens.
