You think that's bad, there's also "hir."If you're born female, what the fuck is the point of changing your pronoun to "zer"? It still sounds a lot like "her".

Nothing will beat the pronouns “shi/hir/hirs” and “hy/hym/hys”You think that's bad, there's also "hir."

Don't forget that puberty means also SEXUAL MATURATION. These children are being denied an important step in human development.
Boys who never went through puberty are left sterilized, with pre-pubertal genitals and no sexual feelings. Then there are the hormones and gnrh agonists they have to take which have also horrible side effects.
Female genitals on the other hand become dry and grossly swollen. The dryness causes the thinning of the skin which leads to pain and bleeding. They also have to deal with much more side effects of grnh agonists and testosterone.
There are also gender doctors like Johanna Olson who want to get rid of age restrictions for genital surgery.
Gender nonconforming children are facing a horrible future.
And if they're from any country with free healthcare, expect them to treat the consequences out of the taxpayer's pocket. To think that in 5-10 years from now we're going to see a good chunk of people who were peer pressured into taking hormones and medications they didn't need and permanently altered themselves by nb and trans "advocates" with agendas and fellow teenagers who were going through puberty and struggling to adjust to all the changes happening to their bodies and vulnerable to suggestion.
Gender doctors should know better than anyone that children transitioning is a really awful idea.
I don't know if they can be sued for it. I've not done much research into it. I know that if someone is misdiagnosed and put on hormones and regrets it then whoever did that could possibly lose their job I think. Saw a story about a trender that went on hormones after bullshitting the therapist, got misdiagnosed and put on hormones, life was hell for them and they got real dysphoria, if the parents weren't apologetic on behalf of their stupid attention seeking child, but instead reported it, the therapist could have lost her job. I don't know about the people that will sell it to you though. I don't know anyone who has brought up grievances with the people who sell it.Maybe, but why would they actually care if it does or not? They're making solid bank on destroying the futures of these kids - just look at the price of Lupron. It's a gold mine for the unscrupulous.

I have a strong feeling this article is bullshit.
What about “it?” As in “It is a looney troon.”The person I know who wears a They/Them button to class has a new button. It says 'Ze/Zym/Zer'. Really, Jacki?
You can be a he, a she, or a they. Anything else is going too far. Not just because I think they're silly, but also because pronouns in English are part of a closed class. What that means is that some parts of speech can have new words frequently added, like nouns or verbs, and some parts can't. English pronouns have been basically the same for over a thousand years. Here's a passage from Beowulf, written in Old English c. 1000:
Syððan ærest wearð feasceaft funden, he þæs frofre gebad, weox under wolcnum, weorðmyndum þah, oðþæt him æghwylc þara ymbsittendra ofer hronrade hyran scolde, gomban gyldan.
Not that I'm necessarily a prescriptivist, but I find it highly unlikely English speakers would suddenly start using a gender neutral pronoun other than 'they'.
yeahYeah, aren't a lot of traditional "third gender" categories in various cultures actually a product of those cultures having rather strict gender roles and primarily include groups who'd be considered binary gendered in modern society? Usually effeminate gay men and trans women in particular?
yeah
also tumblr non-binaries HATE the idea that there's a 'right' way to look/act/be non-binary, but third genders usually have very defined societal roles
you could argue, and people do, that trans women are a product of our culture's gender roles too
Petition · Theresa May MP: Make it easier for transgender people of all ages to transition, especially under 18 · Change.org
Found this gem on my facebook feed. There's so much wrong with people transitioning under 18 for so many reasons- even 18 is iffy to me. Not only are most people who would consider doing that at 16 (the age that the petition suggests) still going through puberty, their brain hasn't developed fully, and won't be until they're in their 20s.
"The belief that 18 is the age you become an adult and can make your own decisions". Well yeah, you can't get a tattoo until you're 18 because that shit is permanent. If you wouldn't let your kid get a tattoo until they're 18, then don't say they can transition before 18. You need to be mature before you make such a life-changing, permanent choice that can leave you infertile, as well as many other irreversible changes to your body. Remember the Australian boy that started HRT at 12 and then changed his mind after 2 years of transition? I know that's a far cry from 16, but still, the brain was developing and so was this boy as he went from child to adult.
Sure your kid can say they're trans but causing all those changes that soon could have a pretty bad effect on them, especially if they're still going through the stage of finding who they are during their teenage years. Some people are still doing that as adults.
I don't know if this belongs here, but it seems that the majority of people advocating for a lower transitioning age are genderfluids and genderspecials from what I've seen. I don't know about the people who signed it (other than my friend who shared it) or the creator, I'm just going by the people I see advocating for kids to transition in general.

To be honest I think there is a "right" way to be nonbinary. I'm just going to insert my two cents due to all the nb people I'm forced to be in contact with. I think making an effort to look/sound androgynous, and actually having dysphoria is a key thing. I don't agree with 73 or so genders, that's stupid. However if someone actually is a grown ass adult thinking they're "in between" or "both" and seems to make an effort i'll be more likely to take them seriously.
Funnily enough the one person I know who seems to actually be dead serious about being nb, absolutely hates genderfluid-identifying people and the idea of 72 genders, even they think it's complete bullshit. They're a believer in the "four points" theory ("male, female, both, neither, and that's it.").
In a way, I get it. Every other of the 72 (or however many there are now) genders that isn't both or neither seems to either be an aesthetic gender or a re-hash of those two, like "demiboy".
