BETHPAGE, NY – A Long Island mother and her two sons were arrested for burglary and assault Wednesday night, police said.

According to Nassau Police, 19-year-old John Colwell banged loudly on the front door of a home on Lowell Street in Bethpage around 10 p.m. for an unspecified reason. The 65-year-old man who answered the door questioned why Colwell, of Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, was banging so loudly, police said.

A verbal argument ensued and Colwell rushed toward the homeowner, police said. The resident reached for a bat and struck Colwell on his head, causing a laceration, police said.

Colwell then began punching the homeowner in his head, face and body while inside the home, police said.

The homeowner yelled to his 61-year-old wife and 21-year-old daughter to dial 911, which they did, police said.

When police arrived, they located Colwell inside the home and placed him into police custody. The homeowner suffered pain to his face and back along with three fractured vertebrae.

Colwell and the homeowner were transported by ambulance to a local hospital and treated for their injuries.

Once at the hospital, Colwell's mother, Danielle Colwell, and his brother, Liam Colwell, arrived and announced that they were there to assist in filling out hospital health forms, police said.

Police then gave multiple orders for them to leave the area after they became agitated and questioned why John Colwell was in police custody, police said.

As officers attempted to remove Danielle Colwell from the room, she refused and became combative, police said. Liam Colwell then jumped on the back of one of the officer's and began to attack him, police said.

Other officers in nearby hospital rooms heard the confrontation and responded and placed Danielle Colwell into custody, police said.

Officers had to deploy and use a taser on Liam Colwell in order for him to comply and allow police to place him into custody, police said.

Danielle Colwell and Liam Colwell were not injured. One officer suffered a sprain to his back, police said.

John Colwell is charged with first degree burglary. He remains hospitalized and will be arraigned when medically practical.

Danielle Colwell is charged with second degree assault, resisting arrest and second degree obstructing governmental administration. Liam Colwell is charged with second degree obstructing governmental administration and two counts of resisting arrest. They will both be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.

LYNN HAVEN — Police have arrested a Bay County man after he allegedly posted threats on a local businesses social media page in connection to a “Black Friday” sale, according to official reports.

Sean J. Keefe, 46, of Panama City, was charged Wednesday with a felony count of making a written threat to kill or do bodily injury. The Lynn Haven Police Department reported Keefe posted threatening messages on the social media page of a local business after the owner of the business announced a typical “Black Friday” sale.

Keefe was arrested without incident in a joint effort by investigators from both LHPD and the Panama City Police Department, officials reported. He was later booked into the Bay County Jail, where he is being held pending First Appearance before a local judge.

That's got to be one of the funniest burglary attempts I've ever read about. I mean, it's horrible that the old man got injured, but who the fuck tries to blatantly and loudly force their way into another man's home, and doesn't even bring a weapon?
