These people don't know what they're talking about. The only Brokeback Mountain joke I saw on Saturday Night Live was a sketch on a season 31 episode called Brokeback Goldmine, about two gold prospectors who fall for each other (kind of a lazy idea, but not all of what SNL does can be gems, though it's not as obvious as what MADtv did, which was Brokeback Mountain where the cowboys in love are women and their husbands are happy about it because they get to see hot girl-on-girl action). That's hardly what I'd call "having a field day with it".

Not like it was a critically acclaimed movie that won three Oscars or anything. Nope, EVERYONE was laughing at it.
Bottom line: If they weren't so busy complaining about things in the world, then they'd be about to see what things are really about and change some of their opinions, but we all know that's got a .1-.5% chance of happening.
