I guess, they're referring to
Kathoeys and
Hijras, but both groups aren't revered as deities. Their living conditions are usually quite difficult and they have to put much more effort into passing.
The Thai Kathoey roots in a certain Buddhist denomination that views homosexuality and intersexuality as a sign of past crimes. You aren't allowed to mock them for that, though. Kathoeys are more accepted in Thailand than in other Asian contries, but no parent truly whishes for his/her son to turn out as one. The vying with other Kathoeys for high paid jobs in the beauty and art business is very dire and many Kathoeys have to work as sex workers to pay their surgery bills. They also have the highest suicide rate and are more likely to be infected with HIV than Thai cis people.
The Indian Hijra is a special case of a "street priest" that was recruited as a poor, orphaned boy by adult Hijras. Hijras rever Shiva in his "dual-gender" form. Other patron deities are Bahuchara Mata and Renuka. Hijras are expected to remove parts - if not all - of their male genitalia. Like Kathoeys the Hijras often live in poverty and have to work as sex workers to survive. Aids is also a massive problem.
You see, you'd have to be very exceptional to invoke a tranny version of "WEEE WUZZZ KANGS!!", since Kathoeys and Hijras tend to get badly fucked in their lives.
