It's probably some weird mechanism in his head, that tells him that it's not a real job. Maybe he thinks everybody with a patreon is a potential dsp and doesnt want to be anywhere near that situation.

I think Jim's point in regards to the Patreon is that 1) him saying he needs more money to do stuff is bullshit and 2) he's not as brave when misgendering people as he says he is because his day job as a professor isn't actually what he uses to pay the bills. I've never heard of this guy before this, and still haven't bothered to look him up, but paid personality tests do sound like a scam and if we know anything about Mr. Metokur its that he hates scams and scammers.
