PSS: To add one thing to that restaurant analogy though, the food Phil serves up is bottom of the barrel, at best...

What's funny is, I don't think what he's doing is that unfair to the Patreons, all he has to do is say "Guys, im sorry I know I said January, but this crises all happened right after I scheduled the playthrough, let me get this tax mess situated and I'll start on the Mario playthrough as soon as I can".

Everyone would of understood and none of this shit would be questioned but instead he does this semantics bullshit "Well I said it was 'quite likely' I'll play it in January, I didn't outright promise it" and then go on these little tangents where he has to insult not only the detractors but disappointed fans too, and be a complete asshole about the whole thing.

As I've said it before, I have a pet theory that you can go beyond speculation and phil's word and get a rough gauge of his actual financial situation by how he treats 'the business.

Every major initiative/'improvement' to his business that his fanbois have successfully beaten through his thick skull has come at a time when there was convincing evidence that he was truly nervous or in trouble. These are the only times he comes close to putting 'effort' into his product. He lets his laziness rule otherwise.

He's been cutting off a lot of stuff from his already laughable schedule recently. The reviews the edited specials etc. Pretty much ALL he does for work now is just unedited gaming period. If its gotten to the point where he can't even be bothered and is going to kill off something as simple as DSP Tries it that probably means his current money woes are either fictitious or he's confident the problem is solved already/he'll make it through.

Just a thought, and the answer could have been verified a long time before I hopped on the DSP train wreck, but:

Do we actually have confirmation he still owns the Condo? Is there proof he's paying two mortgages? I only ask because I had a niggly feeling this week as I don't think I've ever seen PROOF he's paying two mortgages and thought one of the main reasons he could be so reluctant to move back to Connecticut is not because he'd have to move into a 'shitty condo' again, but because he has nowhere to go back to.

It may be that it's easily proven he still owns the condo, but it genuinely wouldn't put it past Phil to have short sold it, kept it as a backup emergency fund raiser to pander to his fans about this massive drain on his finances.

Yes. The property tax records are public information and still show him as the owner. He's no longer listing it for sale. After a buyer backed out in January he relisted it only to remove the listing again in early May.

I wonder if he decided not to sell it as a backup plan... he has claimed to have been broken up with Leanna by May.

Also I love how in the video the excuse he gives for not vlogging during his Christmas time off is "My girlfriend will be around, I can't film her because the detractors will hound her like they did my ex!"

I'm calling it now there is no girlfriend. He could very easily not film her and ask her to not make a sound while he's filming. If you don't give them any ammo they can't use it against you or her!

He then goes on to say the only way he'll film her is if she moves in! How much different is that! She'd still get hounded and found out by his detractors.

Also didn't he have a Patreon Goal where he would stream PubG but now he's saying that he's going to be playing it regularly when it releases. (Anything for $$$)

Can someone explain this to me, how is it that DSP is so fucking dumb he omits that he writes off everything he owns as a business expense than freaks out when the IRS says "no phil we aren't paying for your groceries and video games!". How can he be so close to his own answers yet so far away at the same time?

Not necessarily. It could be his autism, he wants to just focus on his streaming because he believes it will solve all his financial woes. He's done this before, where he drops everything and just does the dspgaming stuff and focuses only on that.

I'm a big junk food fan and there are a lot of outlets where you can get the info on latest fast food and junk food. DSP gets his DSP tries it info from TV commercials which such an obsolete way, in turn which is why he's so behind on stuff and never reviews anything super interesting.
