Nah, all it means is they're someone with major delusions of grandeur. The 'I AM GOD' youtube video, grandstanding, willingness to serve hard time, and endangering his visa by publishing this stuff before applying just all spells out someone who believes the shit they're spewing to a dangerous degree.

Choosing a topic that's going to get him the most attention isn't evidence against that. It's completely consistent. The way Metokur compares some of these acts to something he might do himself is just giving him undeserved limelight. Look at the youtube comments below the video and you can see a lot of people starting to feel like Amos Yee is some sort of lulzy master troll and it goes to show just how inappropriate the tone of his video was.

I believe he said that he started the patreon after he got sick enough that he couldn't do normal work. There were also allusions to an intestinal transplant in his twitter feed, but I didn't look closely enough to know if he was joking of not.
