Plus an m-16 in the cop car? Like I know a lot of highway cops carry shotguns in the middle of the seats mounted and safe and they're not used for shooting people but used just to shoot out the tires of people running at dangerous speeds and even then only when it's safe for everyone else on the road.

Since the only real place to store it is in the front, seeing it just sitting on the passenger seat isn't too outlandish. I'm not well versed in police protocol but I do know that they usually store the big boy guns in a case or a special compartment that they keep around the front seats so that it's easily reached. What I don't know if it's against regulations to just have it laying out literally on the front seats, but it's most likely a slap on the wrist if it's even punishable at all since from my experience it's not a rarity to see an large firearm visible within a cop car. It's most likely unloaded anyways so it's not like it's a huge threat.

Still, police are just normal people, after all. Police cars are often shared across the whole station so perhaps each officer has to clear out their belongings at the end of their shift, including the station's guns that they grab for the day. Some officers might just get lazy with routinely grabbing, storing, and removing their guns in the car, so they'll just chuck the gun on the passenger seat and called it stored in the car. Brianna, however, talks about this as if she's under the impression that if a cop has a gun visibly on the passenger seat, they've almost certainly used it to shoot somebody that very day.

Nah, that's a curb. What's really weird is how the underside of the fender is damaged, but not the middle portion. Do we know what they were allegedly hit by (other than a 21 year old)?

There are some red specs on the fender, but not as much red as you would expect if it were the red car in the reflection. I'm thinking Wu hit something white, and, as per tradition, Wu was the culprit of the accident but tried to spin the story.

The gun was almost certainly being stored unloaded in a locking rack attached to the dash between the driver and passenger side seats. This is incredibly common and bog-standard police practice. Sometimes it's a shotgun. Irregardless, this isn't something strange or threatening or unusual, except maybe to John who knows absolutely nothing about policing and couldn't be bothered to look it up or even just ask the cop.

I've noticed on newer cop cars the middle shotgun rack is now gone and that space is used for a laptop. i have seen m-16's/ar-15's in a plastic cage in the front passengers seat i guess those cops dont have partners.
