At this point I just feel like there's nothing ALR is going to be able to do about her weight, she's too far gone and has no actual motivation to fix it.

If she hasn't gotten her cats fixed after all this time because she refuses to go to the vet, I imagine that they don't have their basic vaccines either. I don't know much about cats, but if their medical care is anything like dogs, in that first year/year and a half, they require constant shots and checkups. Then after that you can start bringing them in annually, but that first year is critical to make sure they stay healthy. I've only seen her go to the vet twice and that was for Wasabi.

Earlier in the stream she mentioned that the "super popular, best vet" she has the appointment is is the Humane Society. She had called their recording and put her name on the list for a low-cost spay, that is why they were going to call her back a week before the appointment. She also got out her pack of chokers to show that they came with the extension chains.

Okay so now everything she said about waiting for someone to call her back makes sense. Places like Humane Society are inundated with low income families trying to get treatment for their animals because they're some of the only places that offer discounted services or payment plans. Normal vets refer clients with bad finances to them because they don't want clients who will dodge their bills.

This time of year is going to be absolute chaos with all of the puppies and kittens around for Christmas. She's making Rarity wait because she wants to spend more money on chokers and food than a surgery that will probably cost under 500 dollars.

Kittens are actually pretty low maintenance if you take care of them properly. Kitten shots are 3 visits, and most vets will do round 2 or 3 at the same time as their spay/neuter, then come back one year later and you can get their distemper booster and rabies booster, then switch to the 3 year version after that. Puppies are more work than kittens imo.
