I'm still not believing it, but I'm gonna play devil's advocate here since this is an interesting tidbit and there are two things I think are plausible

A) He told you that to look 'cool' or 'smart', since this was one of his biggest fuck ups and he is known to twist facts, and he did try to deny it with him scratching his knee(Although he could be having second thoughts about the ruse...).
or
B) That would explain why it looked... fake? I don't think any of us... 'emote' so much when jerking off, so it could've been faked and overacted.

I actually kinda laughed and told him, why even do that to begin with while your then girlfriend was in the other room why not just have sex with your girlfriend instead of your hand. DSP will eventually have to give in and pay up if all this is true. We all know he will not be able to block her. He will try to dodge her, but it will not work. You can get out of paying a lot of people by being difficult and evasive. When it's more trouble than it's worth getting what you're owed, a lot of people will just give up on a deadbeat, and accept that they got tricked into retiling their kitchen or fixing their car or cleaning a house or mowing their lawn for free, and then just move on with their lives.
