This is (unfortunately) correct.
It's also not an excuse to abuse children, though.
Already spotted a goddamn problem in this study.
1. Intrusive thoughts aren't the same as active fantasies.
2. So what you're going on is that a certain number of an unspecified number of men admitted to having thoughts of children sexually when told to think about children sexually
3. You ignore that one of the studies even outright says the thoughts were intrusive (people have all sorts of intrusive thoughts, that doesn't mean you're a pedophile, it means you need a counsellor to clear your head)
Christ, someone could have an intrusive thought about fucking their mum, it doesn't mean they want to.
4. Intrusive thoughts and pedophilia are different when looked at by law enforcement. Ask a criminal psychologist the different between a pedophile and non-pedophile; a pedophile has thoughts of raping kids and likes it. He's aroused by it. A non-pedophile is having intrusive thoughts and is deeply disturbed by them. The non-pedophile needs therapy, the pedophile is an active threat and needs to be kept away from society and or closely monitored.
5. The sample size of the studies aren't exactly massive and to draw global implications from them is fucking stupid
6. You're likely a pedophile by jumping to their defence.
7. Kys
No one is actually offering a cogent refutation of
@Necrololicon that doesn't hinge on feels.
Same reason it's wrong to actively plan to shoot up a school or to say it's okay to actively plan to shoot up a school.
Or saying that someone who gets off on violent rape fantasies and looks at simulated rape and wishes rape was legal isn't a fucked up piece of shit
