I think its more indicative that he doesn't have anyone he can lean on right now. If he was in genuine trouble he could hit up a friend.

I have friends who've asked me to help out with shit and as long as I have the money its like "why not?"

Him having to try and lean on his "fans" shows that he can't even call his parents up for help at this stage.

and I think the last part is that people that do want to give to gamers are probably saving their money to give to agdq, maybe when a cool price and actually watch a non-toxic person.

On the topic of begging, if Phil still doesn't know how much taxes he owes Washington state, then how did he come up with those very, very specific Patreon goals?

I mean, after he announced the tax problem, he started talking about how the Patreon isn't reaching a "stretch goal", which was somewhere around ~$1200 if I remember correctly.. How did he arrive at that specific number?

Also, there is the inherent contradiction of Phil claiming that he has to pay his state taxes before a specific date when according to him the tax amounts are yet to be determined by the state. How did this deadline come about when the amount itself is still undetermined?

Not to mention that the tax issue started a couple of months before he announced it pre-Thanksgiving.

This is all circumstantial of course, but still very, very fishy.

This is actually something we have a reasonable answer to. The tax bill in January is for his first time paying this tax at the appropriate time. The undetermined amount is for back taxes, which is undetermined because it's going to take a good amount of time to account for all of Phil's income during this period of time and which of it should have this tax applied to it.

Zero evidence of this has been provided. Phil's word means fuck-all to me, he's usually happy to show some proof if it helps garner pity bucks.

That's the thing, if he was on Gofundme or some similar site he'd probably have to provide some sort of documentation at some point. The fact that Twitch (and specifically Twitch) hasn't stepped in to confirm anything is alarming.

This is true, but that's how you can look at the whole tax situation. I'm just pointing out that the existence of a January deadline and his back tax amount being undetermined aren't contradictory because the January payment isn't for back taxes. This could all be a fabrication to pay for hookers and gin.
