Wow. That's worse than I expected. I thought if not just money it had to be that they had something on Chris but actually feeding into his delusions? This can't end well. And it's not even going to be worth it because it got old almost before it started.
Having something on someone implies that someone has some shame. Chris is shameless, and even if he isn't, anything embarrassing that he could do has been done and leaked already.
No one has any kind of leverage on Chris, and it's likely that no one ever will, unless it involves either:
- Taking his property for ransom.
- Threaten him with possible harm on an external friend.
The Julie saga is an example of both: Bluespike kept his PSN account for ransom, and threatened him through Julie.
Actually, a lot of troll sagas have involved either giving Chris the possibility of attaining something he wants (mainly fame, fortune, sweethearts and china), or doing the above, and sometimes even doing both.
On the other hand, Chris can always decide that this person is a liar and a troll and stop listening to him.
Chris doesn't function like that at all.
Chris either trusts someone completely or never trusts them. He doesn't manage his trust of people like you or I would, where you'd trust your work colleagues with your gym bag or mobile phone while you go to the restroom, but only divulge your deepest secrets to your SO or best friend. He either gives you access to everything in the vault, or you're out in the cold.
Take an example, it was just revealed that Chris told a complete stranger some pretty intimate stuff about what porn he watches and shit. He probably never even questioned why the ween asked him about it.
What's even worse is that it really doesn't take a lot to get Chris to trust you if you really wanted to, I think the reason we continue to be baffled while he gets trolled in front of our eyes is that we lost the keys to his mind's doors while he was in exile, and he doesn't overshare
in public anymore, so those keys are not as easy to find and someone has to stumble onto them.
Just look at how he immediately refollowed that ween after they tweeted him some stuff he likes.
Finally, Chris seems to decide a person is a troll via either them telling him directly, or via finding an info reveal post, there are some examples in the CWCki where he is told that whatever sweetheart he's with at the moment is a troll, and he ignored all that.
