while i dont think he is necessarily good at his job and the only reason he has it is because of nepotism/being brought up in Hollywood saying he is bad is kinda unfair. The thing he cares about is characters which need to have flaws and change over time, this isnt something that most people cant work out on their own but there does seem to be a lack of that in the films that Hollywood will actually pick up in current year. In his mind star wars and ghostbusters are bad for feminism because they are not films non feminists can get intrested in.

Im gonna link a couple youtube vids that i think are important to his character but they're both over 20mins so i will also give brief descriptions for both.

Heres his wrestling isnt wrestling short which is pertinent for no other reason than it has anna akana in it.
He spergs about the character HHH from WWE as if he was a character with consistent continuity which he is not and proscribes motives to all his actions which only work when looking at the character as a whole. He dresses a bunch of C/D list actresses up in costumes which seems to be his main fetish (see bellow) as all the important characters, because he is kinda obsessed with women and gets his more famous male friends to make cameos.
It shows what he actually cares about in narratives: character development on a large scale even to the detriment of the rest of the story.

This is a podcast max landis was on with a wrestler where he talks mostly about wrestling, but theres a part in there where he talks about loving getting to dress women up in costumes probably because his mom was a costume designer which is weird.
He also talks a lot about heels (the bad guys) and how he finds the role fascinating and how if he was a wrestler he would want to be a heel, i think this is why he does some of the things he does or at least has been so candid talking about them. He is obviously an attention seeker but there is something intriguing about to him having people hate him to at least some degree, i think this current situation is further than he would like but that is probably why he said told his friend to stop picking shitty guys.

That would be crazy if it is the case. I live in LA, have met Max Landis once several years ago through a family member at a screening of short horror films. I don't remember him being as annoying as in the videos, but we didn't talk for long.

I've talked to other people that met or know him, some say he is just weird and quirky and that John Landis was actually black listed in many circles after the incident involving his section of the Twilight Zone movie. Then there are others that say he is a narcissistic psychopath and an abuser who is protected by his father's influence and gets his connections through him.

I look at these videos and I see signs of someone that has had some kind of childhood trauma, maybe abuse. And from what I know abused children often grow up to be abusers themselves. But at this point Landis has not responded, and we don't even really know what the allegations are, so I find it hard to decide who I believe. The guy is really annoying and reminds me of Brianna Wu, except I would say Max is more talented a writer.

We just don't know whats happening yet.

There was a guy on Prairie Home Companion in Minnesota who accidentally touched his co-worker's bare back, he apologized, she accepted and then like 5 years later she cried #MeToo at the top of her lungs. Max fucking Landis doesn't have the influence or pull to hide this. If Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein (worth a quarter of a billion dollars) couldn't hide harassment accusations, then there's no way a quirky, somewhat annoying asshole like Landis could. It is just not possible. The scale of accusations and the weight given to them has gotten less and less serious and more ludicrous. If there was something to this, these women would have come out weeks ago.

Lol this girl wants him to die cause he called her "flatface" and there are a lot of people "coming forward" with stories like "Max went out of his way to tell me I wasn't invited to his party".

I doubt any of them actually want him to be falsely accused of rape but they aren't even hiding the fact that they are happy to pile on him for petty slights because he's twitter guilty now. If it somehow comes out that he has never done anything beyond not taking people's feelings into account before spouting off, I doubt any of these people will be self-aware to feel bad about it, since they won't actually be held to account for it.
