The terms and conditions don't mean anything though. She can release the video yesterday or today or in 10 years and there's nothing to stop her other than the fact that she "doesn't care", which apparently she does because she's already said she's going to continue messing with him in some way after he pays. Even in the thread's internal-kayfabe, there's nothing stopping her from receiving payment and saying "Well, we actually agreed to $500 more than this..."

It's never just one flat reason. It's a multifaceted tapestry of dumb. Some do it to get attention, so do it to rile up drama, some do it legit support him, some do it do make him dance, some do it to troll. Add up all that shit over and over and Phil gets the last laugh.

I had mentioned this earlier. A lot of them are young and kind of look at Phil as the older cool guy that plays games. Maybe they don't have a Dad and standing by him is a defense and showing him they care is giving him money.
The other is guys around Phils age who like to see someone their age do this.

I would pay up in hopes that nothing concrete comes out.
As long as there is no real evidence, he can deny everything and enough people will believe him.

I wouldn't be afraid of her fucking over her credibility as being discrete.
And as long as he pays, she cannot break the NDA.
Hell, even proving there is a sex tape is far better than actually a public sex tape.

I dunno, when I was his age we would have just laughed and shook our heads at someone like Phil. Much like we do now!!!! And I do think you have something with the "cool older guy" thing because I was telling my wife that it was the only reason I could come up with that made half ass sense!!! I feel for those kids not to have any type of real role models, i seriously do.

But we'll never know if he pays. Other clients will never know if he pays. There's no credibility at risk here. He can send her $10,000 tomorrow and we'll never know it. She can say it didn't arrive, or that it wasn't the right amount, or just never mention it at all and vanish. Or she can say that it did arrive when it didn't to keep the story going and not have to post the tape.

She can break the NDA anytime she wants for any reason she wants because it's a less-than-a-handshake-agreement-make-believe piece of paperwork, at best. If the tape is real, game theory tells you to just cut your losses.

This might lead to her getting blacklisted by her escort agency as she had threatened to do to Phil. As these contracts wouldn't hold up in court (at least not in the US, maybe in The Netherlands) the escort networks function as the enforcers, most likely for both client and escort.

imho there is credibility at risk (edit: that post above this one kinda explains it)
I take it that most clients probably don't try to screw with payments though, so this is probably a very one off kind of problem.

I have a working theory that the only reason Phil is still on the internet making meager amounts of money is the righteous indignation on the part of his fans caused by the critique of the "detractors". Typical internet stuff.
Basically when someone insults something you like, you don't listen to them you just dig in deeper to defend it.

It's already blackmail unless you think that threatening to release revenge porn of someone is a valid way to settle a financial dispute.

Edit: Which isn't to say that I'm not cool with it, if she's owed money than she should do what she has to to get it. But acting like there's anything stopping her from releasing anything on legal grounds is kind of...it's kind of like BSV and his "cookie brownies."

Right now, if Phil doesn't pay he'll be lucky some pissed off Norwegian won't come to his home and break both his legs. We're not talking about a dispute at Walmart here. This is some less than legal shit going on that can only really function if agreements are honored. If not, all bets are off and yes that destroys your cred completely.

Not only that but iirc she said he wanted the video but how videos work with her is both partys get a copy for whatever reason she gave, protection of sorts or something.
