Honestly there's a really easy solution for this. Since Glip refuses to cut the porn from mandatory content.

She needs to combine the sites into one nsfw site. And stop pretending that a story that requires porn is sfw.

She won't do it, because there goes the bait for her child audience. Then her legacy can't be kids reading her porn. But, hey, at least Flora will be coherent!

^ This is exactly what I've been thinking for eons, now. She obviously feels like it's necessary to whip a giant, barbed dick out whenever something calls for character development, so why not just do your weird furry porn full time?

Ah well. Back in the day when she was doing the original Seeds and the rape trio, I understood how the SFW content could serve as a lure for younger readers - The bright colors, the cutesy character designs, and to be fair, at least things were KIND OF happening - But ever since it's turned into the Neon Show, I don't think Floraverse is going to be attracting many kids - It's become dull, both visually, and story-wise, nothing is even bothering to disguise itself as cute anymore, and we've been stuck on a loop of boring nothingness for eons now.

Somehow, I don't think that's gonna go over quite as hip with the kids as some of her previous works, which is somewhat of a relief when I think about it. Then again... I don't think the Neon Show is appealing to adult fans either - PK's never been particularly in touch with what people want or like, but this Neon shit is a new extreme for her.

New Flora, the tree thing is now my favorite character. It isn't doing anything wrong, just trying to keep Neon from beanmouthing all over the terminally-ill patients it protects.

"This Cozmo would be lucky to rid himself of you." Lmao same

I must admit, as I started out on this thread, I found Neon rather cute and was under the impression that she could be a fun to watch character (and she truely could if PK wanted her to be) but the more I see of her, the more I end up hating her, which is really a shame.

Within the SFW comic, I am more invested in what Cozmo is going through with the Sirens than in Neon finding him. She is boring as well as incompetent.

In the NSFW comics, Neon comes off as a huge cunt, who only ever has sex with her girlfriend in anything that is not her body. It is perhaps an odd complaint, but in one, Neon drugs her girlfriend and turns them both into feral monsters that have sex in a restaurant, while in yet another, Lily has to be a werebeast with a dick in virtual reality.
I am not sure how I would feel, if I found out that my girlfriend refuses to have intercourse with me for nearly two years, but meanwhile jacks off with a cyberspace werebeast model of me, that isn't even female. Perhaps not as peachy as Lily did.
And even after Lily transported herself into the VR simulation as well, she needed to talk Neon into it. And then, it was nothing but a cuminflation fantasy, with a side dish of a minor showing up and Lily having to literally state that the kid had not heard any of their sex talk.
As for ROM, I think I have said enough and we all know why it makes Neon look even more insufferable.

I just wish that she could at least be fun to hate.

Finally someone in the comic acknowledges that a dead Neon would be a good Neon.

Early Floraverse actually struck me as something more child oriented. Cress and Min had a simple but curious story at first. Then white Beleth and Biff brought in a chill slice of life feel in the comics where we get to see them hang out and be excited over conventions and tea, it sort of felt like writing intended for teens. Neon's entire arc has felt intended for no one but Glip. It's like reading a chapter of an OC roleplay they wrote with their friends. You have no attachment to their characters, the writing is amateur, and it's confusing as all getout because there's a bunch of subtext and side conversations you aren't seeing. There's a bunch of drama, but no planning or coherence because the story is getting yanked around on a whim for the entertainment of the writers, not the reader.

Floraverse could be a ton of short stories without graphics; unified through themes and likable characters, in the hands of another person. It'd be more coherent and probably do a whole hell of a lot better as a result.
Even if it's a group of people working on it.

Playing on the stories having different age groups and drama specific to said groups, even. Or hell, make it child friendly grimdark all the way through with tough issues without whipping out dicks or coarse language.

Oh boy more twitter chimpouts. Is it really exploring problematic themes if all those problematic themes are portrayed as positive? Spoiler alert, it isn't.
And we're back with the "waaah they only pick on me because I'm a woman (but I'm also nb when it's convenient.)" And yes we can compare your life with the fiction you make when it is tailored to your well-documented worldview.

What inconvenient facts have we missed? Go on, tell us, because all of us know you browse through this thread. This is your chance, so sieze it. The more you just vague-post about this stuff on twitter, the longer the thread gets. Because if you have THIS many people calling you out, something is very wrong.

This might be a nitpick, but the shift in language is another thing that's struck me. In the earlier stories, like the beginning of Seeds or even Before You Know It, even milder swears were left out. Even during tense moments, or with the dialogue of more crass characters like Furfur. It kind of preserved PK's claimed "child-friendly" tone.

Now, in later stories like Call Sign, there's casual swearing, Neon dropping an f-bomb for every beanmouth, and a style of dialogue that's more similar to the way that PK herself types in.
Which like, the language isn't the problem, this isn't Christian Moms Against Video Games or anything. But it just causes a bit of dissonance when PK still claims the SFW comic is all-ages while changing the tone like this. It's clear that she prefers to write for an older audience, and she should be up-front about that.

If you’re trying to make a SFW comic and have it appeal to kids, you don’t need to explicitly show characters having sex. You can let the older audience infer that two characters who are dating and not stated as asexual probably bump uglies every now and then, but children don’t need to know that. How many things in children’s media show pregnant mothers and later show a baby after a time skip, without needing to flat out mention how it happened? Adults know how, kids don’t need to.

I know it's impossible for people like Marl and PK to understand that Fan's statement, but come on.

Sometimes being invested and interested in a character means you don't want to consume the gross nasty fetish porn (or even vanilla porn sometimes) the fandom/the creator makes of them. It'd be like trying to peep in on your co-workers', friends' or even family's sex lives.
FYI- normal people don't do that shit, PK.

People can like things that don't ooze sex from every aspect. People can and are allowed to be concerned when you pull the shit you pull and they're allowed to say the fetish shit makes them feel differently about the characters.

There she goes again with this absurd notion. "Sometimes characters have sex", well no shit. Pretty much everyone has sex, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's put on display for all to see. PK, you're going out of your way to show it, and the porn has more weight than the sfw content.

I'm not sure if you know this, PK, but you can very easily explore a character's sexuality and emotional state without having to insert porn. Simba's sexual fondness for Nala is shown very clearly without the need for anything beyond a Disney G-rating. There's plenty of ways to show or explain sexual chemistry or romantic motives without actually having to whip out the dicks and va-jay-jays.

Why does she act like it's this all or nothing thing where if we don't see them fucking, then we don't get it? If you're really so shit at writing that you can't explore romantic chemistry without adding a gross sex scene, then I'm not sure what to tell you. You probably shouldn't be a writer, much less brag about it like our friend, here.

There are multiple of other ways that PK could reveal that Neon and Lily are dating that doesn't involve the former making a giant were-dong version of the latter in cyberspace so she can have rough cumflation sex.

One SFW plot can be Lily bringing a reluctant Neon to a craft fair, and in the end, buys her a bracelet made of computer chips: "Happy Anniversary, ya nerd."
See? Something cute and sweet that doesn't involve panels of pained faces and gallons of cum.

Neon's backstory being put on the porn site makes me wonder if PK thinks all transpeople are inherently sexual 24/7 and there's just no way she can ever write a PG-13 (or even PG) backstory for a trans character without bring up their sex lives or talking about their genitals.

She has asexual people have sex, so nothing is nonsexual to her.

What I love most about this whole thing is that PK left a very long response to that person's comment trying to sound so reasonable and polite, and like she's open and understanding toward disagreement, but then proceeds to act like a condescending turbo cunt about it on her twitter. I mean, we know she has no self awareness, but anyone, fans included, can see how fucking two faced that is as she just laid it right out in public. I hope that commenter also reads her twitter and realizes it's not just her work that's embarrassing to be a fan of.

PK could be trying to write on Neon's insecurity towards her genitals, but if she's gonna go the extra mile to fetishize it, she could at least take it to a separate comic. Or make it SFW but have the actual sex be off-screen while keeping the dialogue and censoring out any unnecessary moaning (though I don't know really how much sex can be implied that would still be appropriate for minors between 13-17 to read, at least it still gives older fans space to read about their characters without having to look at furry porn).

The Undertakers are now my second favorite species, after the Sirens (and fake?sirens). They're the only interesting and non-screechy things in this god-forsaken hell called Floraverse. The sirens are these adorable little pony things that murder fucking everything, and the undertakers are genuinely compassionate and introduce an interesting moral dilemma (i.e., is it better to live longer and suffer or live a shorter but happier life).

The undertakers may be the only remotely intellectually stimulating addition to Floraverse, and I'm not sure that was even intentional.
