That's because they expect you to do something specific as an apology, like writing a long post about how you're sorry and how you were mislead by the evil hooker.

When in reality, the reaction will be "huh, guess I was wrong" and just continue doing what you're doing.

But you don't understand! The world is at stake! How will we live with ourselves if it turns out to be wrong?

The simple answer is that they attach too much importance to their work on DSP-related stuff. Ultimately, he's a failed streamer that at best will continue to be so.

I mean, I like some of those people, I do, and it's kinda making me sad how they are going about this. Either laugh about it and discuss it as a funny story regardless of how it turns out, or wait for confirmation before speaking out on it. It's really that simple.

I've had a lot of anger directed towards me by people who obviously care a great deal about how many twitter followers they have or whatever metric makes you internet famous. If I can join a forum and post with barely any history/backstory and make people this mad, then it speaks volumes about how important their internet fame levels are and how shocking it is to have someone discuss aspects of DSP without their strict written approval. Especially since they seem to be taking what I'm doing as the gospel (the gospel they don't like) even though there are multiple other places to discuss shit.

I'll clarify that I don't really know or privately communicate with almost anyone on here besides using the messaging function on the forum, so I'm obviously not an esteemed member of the asspats club. Which in itself is probably the aspect I find the funniest.

I'm not your friend, I'm not your pal, I'm not your buddy and I don't need to be either. I'm just a username on a forum and that's all I ever need to be.
Some people thought I'd crack under the pressure of the autism on this subforum, but this isn't my first rodeo and I don't need any more people on my friends list.

I'm not gonna give people asspats because they rate my posts positively or agree or disagree with what I have to say, its not important, you're just another user on a forum unless I know you (which I probably don't and in general I have no interest in changing that).

The story is important, access to sources is important, ensuring ready access to information from sources is important and ensuring that everyone's buttplugs get dislodged because their efame status doesn't matter for shit is important.

Let me ask you, what is your end point from arguing about things in a circular fashion? To prove you were right later on? What purpose would that serve exactly? We're all screen names on a board. Worst case scenario, we change those names and you have nothing.

Do you see what I mean here? This is the reason I stopped arguing for the story and focusing on triggering Vidar, because if it turns out to be right, I wouldn't gain anything, you could just change your screen name or leave or whatever.

The whole thing was stated to be a "take it or leave it" story, if you're not taking it, nor leaving it, then I have to ask you what are you doing spending all that time and energy on it?

And yes, some people do expect long apology posts, look at the Fred Fuchs thread for evidence, where people were bitching about some SOK members not apologizing or not apologizing enough

He's been around here for awhile. It's hard to get a read on him because he mostly blended in with occasional bouts of getting really, really angry (well, vocal) about certain things. I recall him going against popular opinion a few times in such a way that made me wonder if he was an undercover fan, but it's been hard to tell.
