Lol i was going to open a thread, good i read this thread going to talk a little about the petro

The petro is like the last stupid hope of maduro to try to get USD after our beloved emperor and now the european union fucked him in the ass, is a Cryptocurrency backed by one of our biggest reserves of oil and 1 petro should cost what 1 oil barrel cost in the world market, if you believe the propaganda every person in the country can buy it and use it internally to get goods and hopefully reduce the XXXX% inflation we have

That if we live in another dimension not in this one, the petro has incredible and several flaws that im going to number

1) Is illegal: by law you cant use reserves or resources that have not been extracted, the main reason that maduro is doing this is because our biggest reserve is now fucking useless because we cant extract the oil from the soil, we dont have the manpower required or the technology to do it, and PDVSA is now facing massive quits because people dont even get their salaries.

2) You cant trade it: exchanging Petros for other cryptocurrencies or even other kinds of currencies is forbidden, people in my irc joked about maduro say that to shut up the people asking if they can buy in amazon with that you can homewer use other currencies of cryptocurrencies to buy petros, but there is no reason to do it

3) People in venezuela is technologically illiterate: Maduro has been blasting propaganda about the petro since early december, but almost all the persons dont even know how to set a wallet, dont know what cryptocurrencies are, and dont give a damn because they cant use it, to put a example everyone had to learn how to wire transfer by force because there are no bills of any denomination

4) You cant mine it: yeah thats right, mining petro is forbidden by law, there was a early registration for potential miners, maduro expected thousands and thousands of people registering, but only 90.000 people registered almost all of them trolls or people that did not care, he forgot that miners have to be imported and the minimum wage is now less than 5 bucks

tl;dr the petro is a shitcoin backed by a promise that is not going to be fulfilled, im trying right now to rig the system to get a pair of GPU's from the government :sighduck:

This was hugely interesting, and a welcoming distraction from my prolapsed portfolio. Sorry about the economic collapse (altho we Burgers will prob get one soon as well), please do keep us up-to-date on the Petro and its reception. I've been a little bit autistically fascinated with the petro since first reading of it, so this first-hand account & perspective on it is very gratifying.

Ok an actual question this time. Is bitcoin suffering from a rapid and recent (relatively speaking) influx of get rich quick fags? It seems like a lot of new blood getting involved is more from the tech end and not from the market end of things, and are getting fucked in the ass for it.
 
Today the White Paper of the Petro was released and finally can see come of the sheer idiocy that is going to be the first shitcoin created by a Government

1) Authorities are going to accept Petro as a mean of payment for Taxes and Public services so yeah you can pay your phone bill with petros

2) They are pushing to pay people their work benefits with petros, the paper clearly state that "they need to have the consent of the worker" but that is bullshit, they are going to enforce it or fire them

3) The goverment is going to create their own blockchain for no reason at all and is going to work in the Ethereum platform

For someone that is not a complete moron, the plan of maduro is dumb obvious, he pretend to kill the Bolivar that is worth absolutely nothing and try to use the Petro has a mean to "bypass the economic blockade that first world countries are imposing to Venezuela" first of all the only one that has put some kind of block was Trump by penalizing anyone that make deals with the government, private investors that want to invest in other things that are not related with the goverment can do it, and the sanctions that were imposed are FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS, Maduro has screeched for months that the sanctions are for everyone in Venezuela but that is a big lie

Also the White paper is 3/4 bold lies and the rest is technobabble like Venezuela has more oil reserves but refuses to say that we cant extract it and that this coin will attract investors when in reality no one want to come here because the political climate is fucking awful, they are putting their faith in the "prestige" (lol) that PDVSA has (more lol) to make this shit coin work
