Dave Chappelle Salt - When being black just isn't enough

I get the impression he really hated dealing with TV suits and the general quality of vermin you get to interact with for TV shit, and as soon as he had fuck you money, he said fuck you.

Yeah, Matt and trey from South Park were extremely in his corner during the issue and supposedly reached out to him a few times to tell him they agreed with his hatred of the network and the censors therein

Sooner or later, all comedy will be outlawed unless you are making a joke about white cis males.
A lot of people don't realize only focusing on one demographic quickly turns from humor to stale bitterness. That's why we mix it up a bit.
Stand up comedy is an art form; you wouldn't watch a dance routine where someone just does the same move every 5 seconds. It's boring.

Not sure if those were already posted, but here ya go:

Maybe he could have a pretty white girl sing this stuff?
THAT'S what they thought of as offensive? Jesus, I was expecting some really hateful diatribe the way people were going on. South Park doesn't get this much salt, and the whole Mr./Mrs. Garrison plot was probably worse. These are probably the same idiots who take Onion articles seriously.

(Everyone always quoted "I'm Rick James Bitch!" but I always liked Dave's Prince impression better. RIP Charlie Murphy)

If you laugh your ass off when someone is mocking a race you hate, and then suddenly, you start angrily screaming about racism when your own race gets mocked, you DO NOT HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR.

He’s not wrong.

It doesn’t sound like the man’s changed at all, thank goodness.

Dave Chappelle was and is hilarious and deserves his reputation, but I feel it is a shame that he was a bit self righteous about his comedy and walked away from it. His show was hilarious, it was race aware, but it never offended anybody because he was so equal opportunity and because he was just so damn funny. Of course people loved to shout his quotes. When he was airing you heard "I'm Rick James, bitch!" everywhere. It was unavoidable. He was a cultural phenomenon.

The biggest reason it's a shame is because they replaced him with Carlos mencia and that guy should have been run through an industrial meat grinder.

That said, the Obama years were a terrible time for race relations in this country and we could have used some comics like Chappelle.

If you read interviews, part of the problem was he got REALLY burnt out on the show and the bullshit behind it. Along with that, a lot of his shows were getting ruined by people shouting Chapelle show memes at him like you said. He honestly just wanted to go back to stand-up (and honestly, he's a legend. He's one of the best stand up comedians in history) and you can't really do that if every show is getting ruined. So he just took a hiatus until the whole Chapelle show exhausted itself. Not to mention it must have been nice being out of the limelight and he probably wanted to actually raise a family without traveling all over the country. Now that his kids are grown, Chapelle show is no longer a super-meme (still hilarious, but no one is shouting it), he can go back to doing comedy.

And the thing is Dave Chapelle does not give a fuck. Like, he seriously does not care. That's one of the best things about him. This is the guy that walked away from one of the most profitable shows around because he felt like it, and these stupid cunts think writing articles about him offending trannies is going to make him change? Fucking lol. Dave Chapelle will joke about everyone and everything, he's a fucking legend. You are a no-name cunt that will only be remembered as part of a censorus, shitty movement that stifled art and culture for the better part of a decade.

I've seen this writen elsewhere about Dave's two most recent (and awesome) comedy specials. That Dave is old and out of touch.

No, you fags. Dave isn't out of touch. He knows exactly what's going on, is commenting perfectly on it, and has no fucks to give about anyone' reaction to what he says because he knows he can't be touched.

That's because these dumb faggots think they are 'on the right side of history'. They think that anything that doesn't fit with their progressive views is 'out of touch' and 'old'. Yeah, I bet the Victorians, the Religious Right and all the other censors throughout the ages thought they were on the right side of history too. Look how they turned out. Dead, burned and relegated to the dustbin. Just like you will be, because you don't understand that nothing lasts forever. Culture/Politics is always on a pendulum. I look forward to when it swings backwards, the salt will be glorious. It will be like mana from heaven.

Dave is the best, because they can only scream into the void and virtue signal, because he doesn't give a fuck and neither do the people that like him.

EDIT: I just finished watching his second recent special and at the end he discusses (in metaphor) as to why he quit Chapelle show. He doesn't say it directly, but he uses an anecdote from a book called 'Pimp'. If you want to know why he's a legend, I suggest you watch the ending bit.

It also pretty much confirms my thoughts as to why he quit in the first place.

I mentioned South Park earlier -- that's what happened with Isaac Hayes. He was fine with making fun of every other religion under the sun, but as soon as they targeted Scientology, he bailed. (Granted, there's speculation that he was pressured to do so by the church itself, and he was simply content to sit that episode out. Especially as he had a stroke right around that time. ) And that fucking sucked, because Chef was one of the best characters. :(

It all depends on whose ox is being gored. Chappelle didn't say anything ttruely hateful. He didn't say, "eeeewww, trannies, icky!" Nothing more than you'd expect from the guy. You'd think that Caitlyn Jenner herself would be more hateful towards trans people, with her clueless little comments about how she's anti-gay marriage, how she supported Trump, and that "the hardest part of being a woman is deciding what to wear!" I mean, she's a fucking Kardashian. They're living proof that money can't buy class.

I think a lot of the salt is due to the far-left expecting Dave Chappelle to make his come back specials all about their own interests: Trump.

And while he did that, he didn't focus on it as much as they expected, and started poking more fun at their own outrage culture.

You can see that he's doing it on purpose when he started talking about the need for people who speak recklessly. He's clearly trying to ruffle their feathers, while adding some indirect Trump jokes to keep things close to "balanced".

Imagine going into Syria as a black convert named "David." It would the heckle of a lifetime.

Clearly you missed the point, which is hilarious in a thread about a comedian.

Some folks just won't let you malign the spiritual expression of their waifu, my friend

We've just decided, proactively, that your mid 00's TV show that didn't have a single white supremacy joke in it was actually all about smashing white supremacy, which means you've been judged problematic in the present for failing to continue with that....

This is why SJWism is doomed to die, does nobody see how this cannot attract new converts who don't already hate themselves and have no social power?

He's probably one of those Secular Muslims we've heard legends about.
His brother is a member of Nation of Islam, so he’s not a proper hajji.
I suspect that he might have joined Nation of Islam for protection.
Also, Nation of Islam is like Scientology for black people.
If you’re a celebrity, you’re treated like a god.

lmao no, he completely cucked out to the point he dedicated a significant portion of his comedy routine to make a public apology for suggesting that the president should be a given a chance.

Regardless of how you feel about his performance, having to apologize for saying 'let's just see how it goes before freaking out' is fucking insane. The deep, deep LA roots of the comedy scene got to him. He wants to be a part of their club, so he's going to have to be a dancing monkey for them and make apology after apology until he goes insane and exiles himself again or he tells them to go fuck themselves, turn into a pariah, and... well, he'll probably exile himself again in that scenario too.

It's a no-win situation but he brought it upon himself.
