Culture The Hollywood Sex Pest Megathread - America saw Yewtree and said 'We can top that'

Since the New York Times published its bombshell report last week on the sexual harassment allegations against Harvey Weinstein, the number of accusers grown considerably in both number and in severity.

While much of the public’s attention is on high-profile accusers such as Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, the film producer also reportedly took advantage of staffers, aspiring actresses, and other young women in the industry.

Emily Nestor, for example, was a temporary front-desk assistant when Weinstein reportedly said he’d boost her career if she accepted his sexual advances. Another Weinstein employee, Lauren O’Conner, penned a scathing memo to the company detailing more alleged abuse.

“I am a 28 year old woman trying to make a living and a career,” she wrote, according to the New York Times. “The balance of power is me: 0, Harvey Weinstein: 10.”

In a New Yorker exposé published on Tuesday, 16 current and former staffers told Ronan Farrow, that, in his words, “the behavior was widely known within both Miramax and the Weinstein Company.”

We want to know if there are more victims out there who were not given the chance to speak out.

If you feel you have been personally abused or harassed by Weinstein at any time during your career, send an email to carla.herreria@huffpost.com to talk about it.

All this fucking nonsense about how this is a "turning point" for Hollywood is making me sick to my stomach, and it's because of predictable shit like this.

We haven't reached the zenith yet. The Academy Awards are March 4th.

The Golden Globes was just the practice run so you might want to keep a bucket nearby as things will probably escalate until then. Everyone will have had time to position themselves as a brave victim by then.

Speaking of, 100 French women (including Catherine Deneuve) are pushing back.

It is interesting that a good portion of the rest of the world is either laughing or is disgusted by this. Outside of the narcissistic veil in Hollywood and the spin the American media puts on it, the fact that the majority of these "victims" only say something when its convenient to their careers and claim PTSD over things like a pat on the butt or a clumsy attempt to hit on them 10 years ago, makes it a laughable movement.

As my Scottish friend says "Ye fuckin americans git yer heid sae far up yer bahookie , ye cannae even reek yer ain jobby anymair."

This. Plus Wahlberg is an A list actor who's a household name so he can command that kind of money. What bargaining power does Williams have? I literally had to look her up because her name sounded familiar.
He's evil for wanting more money out of this situation! But she's noble for wanting more money out of this situation!

Michael Douglas Preemptively Denies Sexual Harassment Allegation He Knows is Coming
"I had the choice of waiting for a story to come out...or try to share with the public, a little ahead of the story, my thoughts and concerns," Douglas said.

Michael Douglas has given an exclusive interview to Deadline where he preemptively denies a sexual harassment allegation he says is coming in the future. Douglas received a message from his attorney that The Hollywood Reporter was interested in a story involving one of the actor’s former employees who alleges Douglas sexually harassed her approximately 32 years ago. The woman alleges Douglas “spoke raunchily” to her and to his friends when she was around. She also claims Douglas masturbated in front of her.

“I had the choice of waiting for a story to come out, one that will clearly get picked up by other newspapers and magazines, and then I have to sit there and try to defend myself. Or, try to share with the public, a little ahead of the story, my thoughts and concerns,” Douglas said about coming forward before the allegations were made publicly. “Again, I am sorry if I used coarse language with my friends. But this is really debilitating. It can have a large effect on my career.”

Douglas told Deadline that he “does not know where to begin” in regards to the allegation that he masturbated in front of his former employee. The actor said this accusation is a “complete lie” and that there is “no truth to it whatsoever.” The actor heard the woman was “running around, possibly trying to give this story to other people” such as Variety. The woman reportedly has “three friends who would back her up, that she had mentioned this to.”

The actor went on to mention that he has always been supportive of women through his career, noting that his mother was an actress and that he himself married an actress and has been supportive of the anti-harassment movement “through all [his] years.” Douglas noted that he has had up to 20 female executives work at his company and said that he has partnered with 20 female producers on movies over the years.

“How am I, in a 50 year career in this industry, dealing with an employee 33 years ago who perhaps is disgruntled that I let her go, even though I have never heard from her in 32 years,” he said.

“I’d confess to anything I thought I was responsible for,” Douglas continued. “And it was most certainly not masturbating in front of this woman. This reeks. I would have respected if she had reached out to me any time over these years, to share her pain or concerns and I would have been the first one to respond. But this, going directly to the newspapers or whatever you want to call them, it just reeks of something else. I’m upset.”

Douglas mentioned that he is “fearful” the allegations could derail his future in Hollywood and the several projects he has in development.

“I wonder if people realize when you do something like this, it hurts a lot more than just one person,” he said.

Head over to Deadline to read Douglas’ full interview.

All this fucking nonsense about how this is a "turning point" for Hollywood is making me sick to my stomach, and it's because of predictable shit like this. What, because there's a trend of naming and shaming, the dominance behavior isn't going to keep happening? How do they figure that?

People are drawn to positions of power because they can use that power to get what they want. Certain types of amoral, warped people are drawn to these positions because they can use power as leverage to force people to do things they don't want to do. As long as gatekeeper positions exist, fucked up people will attain them and use them to control and exploit other people, and no Twitter movement is going to stop that because it's been happening for all of human history.

In a few years, if it even takes that long, the same shit will be happening in Hollywood, and I expect many of the same offenders to be back at it while everyone else looks the other way. And if most of the women who are now making the "I was groped 20 years ago in an elevator and now I have PTSD" accusations could stop aging (fuck you, Ashley Judd, you bulldog-looking nutter, you waited until the second Weinstein couldn't help your career anymore to name him and join the, ahem, dogpile), many of them would go right back to trading sex for fame and riches. Guaranteed.
They could put their money where their mouths are, and do something like making agents and other entertainment professionals mandatory reporters when it comes to sexual assault with minors in the business.

Not that it'd stop the raping of adults, but it'd still put some kind of real responsibility on these chucklefucks in the form of actual legal consequences. Not just "boo hoo hoo, I squealed on a famous person and now I can't make millions of dollars a year" consequences.

Smart or asshole move? Opinions needed.

Entirely reasonable. I thought it was pretty stupid even to bother removing Spacey anyway. Also (((Wahlberg))).

See on one hand Walhberg asking money for the re-shoots is smart because he probably had some previously planned work he needed to cancel so it's just him being professional.

This is like when that shitty co-worker has some charity and goes around collecting for it at work and then guilting people for not giving if, for instance, they don't fucking believe in it.

It reminds me of Bob Geldof bullying people into supporting his Live Aid bullshit.

Corey Feldman is under police investigation for sexual battery.

http://www.tmz.com/2018/01/10/corey-feldman-under-investigation-sexual-battery/

Corey Feldman's warpath against alleged child molesters in Hollywood just took a hard right turn -- he's now being accused of sexual battery.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... a woman walked into a police station Monday and filed a report claiming Corey grabbed her ass in early 2017. We're told LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division will investigate. Unlike almost all of the recent sexual misconduct claims in Hollywood ... this case would fall within the statute of limitations.

Corey's rep says he "vehemently denies these egregious claims."

Last year, he went on a mission to out child predators in the film industry ... though he's had some hiccups along the way.

Now this is just an ass grab. Not a huge deal. But when it comes to someone like Feldman, who claims to be a huge advocate against stuff like this, it looks really bad. It's totally hypocritical. Not that his fat, middle aged fangirls will care. They'll keep sending him their money. It's totally believable that he did this too because he's running a creepy sex cult disguised as a terrible band. This is one case where I'd say report the ass grab because this guy is being a hypocrite and people need to stop funding his scam.

You just wait. Corey is going to come out and say that this was a setup by Hollywood pedophiles who don't want him to talk. He'll pull the "Hiding out and scared. I think I'm being followed" routine again. That's the reason he claims for cancelling a Halloween show last year. His deluded fangirls eat it up, feel sorry for him and fork over more money. It's a great excuse to rev up the scam.

Meanwhile Feldman will continue to name nobodies and maybe he'll throw in a few dead guys. But the big guns are not going to be put out there. There's too much buzz right now about Feldman being paid off to keep quiet. The only conspiracy theory about all this that I'd entertain is that maybe one of his pedophile pay days is using this as a message to remind him not to start reading off of the wrong list. But I think it's unlikely. He's a wannabe mixture of Hugh Hefner and Michael Jackson that will never even come remotely close to reaching feet of either of them.

Corey Feldman is under police investigation for sexual battery.

We predicted this would happen if he didn't spill. It's also pretty obvious the guy is almost certainly an ass grabbing creep after he paid those women in his "band" to hang around dressed like sluts so he could ogle them.

Oh good. We're talking about Corey Feldman. Ex-Angels members have been speaking out against him and claiming that he mistreated them and also didn't pay them for the gigs they did and are saying other allegations. I guess this finally went big because Corey is currently whining about how his ex-members are speaking out against him and being mean to him on Twitter. His gullible fans are all defending him on Twitter and I'm seeing it on my dash right now because it's fun to watch a flaming trainwreck.

How dare they speak out about being ripped off and mistreated, Corey's the real victim here! How dare people say that Corey's using his donation money on himself and his wife instead of saving children.

Some ex-Angels told stories about Corey in this podcast. He's definitely using money on drugs and other things and has some kind of cult group with the Angels.
