very loosely follow this thread, because I think Greer's tantrums and legal threats are amusing, but I noticed a few pages back people were surprised he simply deleted a bunch of stuff and moved on. Like they were shocked he would recover so quickly. I didn't figure out until
@yawning sneasel made his post that there was a catfish going on (I didn't even watch the video I posted) and then I put 2+2 together. People were mad he wasn't more distressed that his fake girlfriend turned out to be fake.
First, that's kinda fucking sick in the head and go fuck yourself.
Second, lolcows don't operate predictably.
When CWC was still being trolled, the troll cabal at the time were
convinced that after the Sonichu Medallion had been stolen and destroyed it would mentally break him. When it was destroyed, he simply went "a-ha! the true source of my powers came from my highschool ring!" and he was fine. Then he just made another Sonichu medallion.
That's why a lot of trolling plans are shit. When you plan to do X to yield result Y you're rarely going to get that result. At best, it'll be tremendously underwhelming. At worst, you'll look like a fucking gross weirdo and everyone will hate you for the shit you pulled.
That's why we have the "look, don't touch" rule. It's not a cheeky "oh tee hee I can't
stop people from touching, tee hee hee, it's ever so out of my control ~ ! *hint hint, nudge nudge*". It's, "don't fucking touch". Because it's not funny. Because you won't achieve the results you want. Because even if you do it will be synthetic. Look at all the paid-for CWC content coming out now where Chris is doing dumb Nazi shit. That's not funny. That's just Chris making money.
I am thoroughly convinced at this point that people who feel the need to put on these weeks long escapades to fuck with the mentally ill are the most pathetic sort of person. Hirtes makes literally hundreds of Twitter accounts for no reason other than to hurl abuse at Chris. Just endless torrents of screeching. It's his entire life. It is the most sad, pathetic existence I've ever seen. The forum in general tends to elevate "laughing at tards" shit to some sort of community trial by fire where there's at least laughs to be had with friends like when you watch The Room with a bunch of people. If you're just watching The Room by yourself (and possibly masturbating) you're just fucked up.
