Who would have thought that having a Fred Fuchs sock anagram username would look so suspicious all of a sudden? I don't know if I buy the "Sons will rise again" schtick, though. Fred's SoK was largely meant to be a community (albeit a gatekeeping one) built on "detractor" genre youtube content, not some bizarre guerrilla resistance pushing fake stories.

This whole scenario is pretty wild, and it's hard to say what's going to happen now. What can we even believe? The MW evidence that did exist was fairly convincing, at least to an :autism: goof like me. There was just enough of a constructed history and narrative about the whole affair that was sort of believable, and that's why it affected so many people. The escort story served to possibly explain how he (allegedly) pisses away all of his money to the point where he's left to cry poor. Now we're back to the nebulous money sink of a regular scammer.

I don't think we needed the escort saga as proof that Phil pisses away his money. His brand new car that he never drives, the VR devices that he never uses, and the whole second house that he not only doesn't use, but won't even rent out are perfect examples of how bad he is at money. Not to mention all the little things, like pouring so much money into headphones, preordering games right before playing the beta and finding out that he hates them, wasting money on mobile games etc.

Yeah it was already very likely from evidence that no, Phil isn't lying when he says he's in a shitty financial situation he's just THAT shit at spending even after all this time.
For example: The Dissidia NT Beta releases, he pre-orders the game, THEN tries the beta, then realises he doesnt like it, and goes "FUCK" that he spent money pre-ordering it on a pre-order he can't cancel now.

Imagine being such a shitty person that the only time you can be positive on stream is when it's proven you didn't bang a hooker this one time. When was the last time DSP seemed happy on a stream, apart from when he's telling you he's positive or when he laughs at his own """"jokes""""
