In Russ's view, he was raised a Mormon but fucks hookers (or tries to), and that's not conservative. And he wants brothels legalized, and that's not conservative. So, he's "far left" of how he was raised even though all of his OTHER political views are conservative. He also probably thinks it gives his pro-Trump arguments more weight, as in "I'm far left politically, yet I can still see that Trump is right about whatever...."

Brothel owners are Republican, it would make more sense for him to just accept his misogynist, racist political identity.

Though, to be fair, even the Democrats in Utah are pretty Right-leaning compared to much of the rest of the US. I have friends and family who are registered Democrats and have never voted for a Republican, but have some political views that are traditionally considered "conservative", like being very pro-gun. Not to say that Strokey is Left-leaning at all, because he obviously isn't. Just saying that our Lefties aren't as Left as a lot of other Lefties here in Utah.

I will also point out that Russ takes two positions that are distinctly in opposition to right-wing philosophy. One of those is a quasi-collectivist notion that the government should pay for some non-vital service--in his case, sexual services--on behalf of the "deserving". He wants socialized prostitution, which I'm for damn sure isn't a right-wing idea.

Another is that a person should be granted special privileges due not to their decisions or actions, but predicated on immutable qualities arising from the circumstances of birth or ancestry (i.e. "protected class"), to offset the discrimination that it's assumed they will experience. Any time someone criticizes him or refuses him something, the first thing he snaps to is "YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO ME BECAUSE I'M DISABLED". Again, not a right-wing concept.

In the end analysis, though, he has no political position. Politics is the process of interacting with other human beings, and Russ doesn't acknowledge the humanity of anyone but himself.

Law is incredibly susceptible to the Dunning-Kruger effect because it involves terms that even morons are familiar with in common parlance so they think they understand them, without realizing that they have very specific meanings in a legal context. And since it involves reading comprehension and logical reasoning instead of being some engineering process where it is completely demonstrable when something is correct, absolute morons will be convinced that every trained, professional judge and lawyer in the country is wrong but they are right, if they are ruled against.

The way Russ operates in this respect isn't unique; it's the same with every sovcit out there. If they lose in court, it's because they judge is the moron, not them.
