What should be done with Idea Guy threads?

So the Idea Guy troll has been around for a few months and isn't showing any signs of letting up. In the meantime, his content seems to be unpopular here and a chunk of commentary in the threads is people complaining about him or debating whether he's paying Chris or not.

So what should we do with the threads? Merge into a containment thread or keep them as separate update threads?

Also, what should be done with updates where Chris reacts more, such as "Rosechu has a dick" or the video of him destroying the Christine Doll? Or updates where Idea Guy's influence is there but minimal, like in "Sonichu 15 Page 1: Dates" (where there's a Nazi reference by him, but the content of the terrible Sonichu art and the fact of Chris ripping off a fancomic is CWC's). If a containment thread is chosen, what should be done with those kinds of updates - put them in or have separate threads?

If we quarantine the Idea Guy stuff then we're just going to fall into a drought. Worst case scenario is that Chris does some exceptional stuff on his own and people get paranoid about whether or not Idea Guy was behind it and fight over whether it should be locked in quarantine or left out in the open.

As much as we highly discourage weening, it's also best we don't encourage people to A-log those same weens as well, this includes Idea Guy, or anybody for that matter. No one on here should have to tell anyone this. It'd probably be best to lock the threads regarding the ween, and reserve any future references to him to Random Chris Updates, mainly to avoid stirring up drama. People are more likely to lose their shit when something becomes a thread.

Yeah, I mean Chris is making loud emotional videos now and I believe when he makes unpaid, loud emotional videos it should be separate thread worthy. An Idea Guy containment thread sounds annoying af to navigate and would probably somehow be full of MORE "fuckuideaguyfucku" posts than the normal threads get.

Even if it was Idea Guy that was genuinely entertaining. There's a big difference between pointing Chris in a direction and seeing where he goes with it and shoving him towards a goal by waving a crisp twenty in his face. If this guy wants to dump his money on Chris that's on him. But paying Chris to make an ass of himself is lazy and nowhere near as funny as they think it is.

I agree that people may start bitching about whats actually IG content and whats not, but I'd rather have one thread dedicated to the topic rather than having Idea Guy posts shit up literally every other thread on the board.

Content containment threads have a listing in the OP linking to updates. One will be maintained for Idea Guy.

1st off, let's establish something important: Depriving the Idea guy of attention has failed miserably, whoever the Idea Guy may be, we can clearly see that they are actively reading the discussions here and is even using them as feedback for future content. Plus, it has created this popular myth that Idea Guy's content is paid, when all evidence points to the opposite:

• Chris may include a bunch of paid characters into Sonichu, but he won't change its continuum, especially when they all revolve around antagonism (Nazis, Russians..etc.), which is something Chris actively avoids in all aspects of life.
  
• Chris is probably making the most Lego money in his life right now, so why would he deface his life's work for a couple more bucks?
  
• Even if we buy that Chris was paid to make those changes, he certainly won't freak out about it like this (see the transRosechu incident), he certainly won't destroy his prized Christine doll, which was custom made by him, and we all know how much ego Chris has when it comes to his creations.

The way I see it, making a new containment thread will only lead to the contiuation of what happened when Idea Guy stuff went to the paid content thread, because it's the same solution with a coat of paint, and the feedback loop between our opinions and Idea Guy's actions has already been well established, despite the mod team's best efforts to prevent that.

This leave us with only one solution really, the Best approach is to give significant events (videos, Sonichu pages, long FB rants..etc.), with the more minor stuff going to the random updates thread. The separate threads can be tagged with [IdeaGuy] in the title or a special thread tag, so people who hate the content can know to avoid them.

Finally, and this will be somewhat controversial. But I think that whatever solution is implemented by the mods, some moderation should happen so we don't end up with 100 pages filled with inane comments, all saying some variation of "KYS Idea Guy", that is shit-tier conversation I honestly don't wanna waste my time on. I understand that people find the content to be ween-y ( and I myself find it to be so too, especially when it's all nazis all the time), and a lot of people want to let off some steam about it, but it's kinda annoying to see it become the prevailing mood of discussion.
